Kapok is a natural product. The kapok fiber contains 80% air, which gives it the unique and breathable properties. A kapok mattress is also an allergy-friendly product, as the fiber contains a natural antibacterial substance, which, among other things, house dust mites cannot live in. Cocoon's organic kapok mattresses are free of formaldehyde, flame retardants and fluorine substances, which other mattresses can unfortunately contain.
The kapok mattress is hand-stuffed with untreated organic kapok, covered with a spring of 100% organically certified cotton.
Since it is hand-stuffed, there may be some variation in the dimensions.
This mattress measures 180x200x10 cm.
Maintenance of your kapok mattress
It is a good idea to give your kapok mattress a little air from time to time.
You do this by placing it on its side from time to time.
The mattress is hand-upholstered with loose natural fiber, and therefore the mattress must be maintained once in a while as needed, where you put the mattress on its side and massage/press the fiber from the edge towards the middle, where the mattress is most stressed during use. Otherwise, the mattress can form a hole where the kapok fiber is pressed the most.
If you have a bed with a slab base without air flow, you must pay particular attention to airing your mattress.
Because the slab base will not be able to transport moisture and heat away from the mattress and this can, in the worst case, result in fungal spores at the bottom of your mattress.
