Kapok duvet - double duvet
Organic double duvet in the most lovely and temperature-regulating kapok.
Kapok is also called silk cotton because the incredibly soft fiber. Kapok is the world's smallest natural fiber. And kapok is a temperature-regulating material that makes it incredibly good at transporting moisture away from the body during the night. The temperature-regulating effect makes it super suitable all year round.
A kapok duvet is therefore also very suitable if you find it difficult to keep warm at night - or perhaps find it difficult to get rid of the heat again.
The kapok fiber is also antibacterial, so you don't get house dust mites visiting when you lie down and sleep.
Under this double duvet there can be two persons.
The double duvet is filled with untreated organic kapok, with a spring of 100% organically certified cotton.
The duvet measures 200x200 cm.
Please note that the kapok duvet feels a little different from a normal down duvet. It is slightly heavier and initially resembles a cotton blanket. But the fiber shrinks over time, so it is stopped up well at the start so that it does not become too flat over time.
Maintenance of your kapok duvet
Kapok is a natural fiber with quite unique properties.
And they are definitely worth taking good care of.
As a general rule, you should only wash your kapok duvet if it is strict necessary. The kapok fibers can be damaged by washing and clump together, so we therefore advise against washing, unless the duvet cannot be used without it.
For normal use, it is sufficient to simply air the duvet.
If the stains are smaller, we recommend spot washing.
But if it is necessary to wash your kapok duvet, then do it like this:
How to wash your kapok duvet- Wash preferably at 40 degrees to protect the fibre. However, 60 degrees is possible if necessary.
- Choose a short washing program, as the kapok cannot stand being wet for too long
- Choose centrifugation at 1200 revolutions to get as much water as possible out of the kapok
- Use a gentle detergent without enzymes or bleach. For example Cocoon's soap berry or a delicate detergent with or without probiotics
- Do not use fabric softener
- Dry the kapok duvet immediately after washing
How to dry your kapok duvet
- Kapok duvets are dried alone in the dryer
- Give yourself plenty of time. We recommend using dryer balls in wool to reduce drying time. They also ensure that the fibers are gently separated
- Do not use tennis balls as they break the fiber
- Choose a 30 minute program with medium heat. Look at the kapok pillow and repeat until it is slightly damp.
- Let the kapok duvet dry in a warm place until the rest of the moisture is gone.
- Be careful not to dry too long in the dryer, as this can reduce the life of the fiber.
