Silk is made from the pupa of the silkworm. Normally, the silkworm will pupate and transform into a silk butterfly within two weeks. But silkworms rarely get this far in traditional silk production. The doorstop is made by Bürstenhaus Redecker who have a very long tradition of making quality items for the household.
