Cocoon Company

TEA-006000

Reusable tea filter

Pack of 5 reusable tea filters from Danish Cocoon Company.

The tea filters are made of GOTS certified organic cotton.

The fabric tea filters can be used again and again and that way you can ditch the disposable filter or the expensive tea in small bags.

By using your tea filter again, you save both the environment and your economy from unnecessary resources and expenses.

If you use, for example, 3 tea filters or tea bags a day, you use a total of 1095 per year. You save them with these 5 filters, which should last 1 year each if you take good care of them.

The tea filters measure 8.5 x 11.5 cm.

How to use your reusable tea filter

These tea filters are brilliant for loose tea.

Put your tea directly into the tea filter and tie it up. Use it as usual.

Rinse the tea filter and hang it to dry after each use. Nothing else is necessary, but you can use a mild detergent if you wish.

Maintenance of your reusable tea filter

Before the first use and then every 6 - 8 weeks, the tea filter should be boiled in a pot for approx. 10 minutes or simply wash with a kitchen sink.

If food gets on your tea filter, you should also boil the filter for approx. 10 min.

If your tea filter becomes too dense over time, so that the tea finds it difficult to flow through, you can benefit from boiling it with a little limescale remover. For example this really effective and conscious version.

Reusable coffee filter

Pack of 3 reusable coffee filters from Danish Cocoon Company.

The coffee filters are in GOTS certified organic cotton.

The coffee filters can be used again and again and that way you can ditch the disposable filter.

If you use, for example, 3 coffee filters per day, you use a total of 1095 coffee filters per year. You save them with these 3 filters, which should last 1 year each if you take good care of them.

In addition, a fabric coffee filter is also extremely effective at capturing the coffee oils from the coffee, which are the ones that can cause stomach aches. The coffee oils settle in the filter, which must then be boiled out once in a while - see below.

These coffee filters are in size 4, which gives 6-12 cups.

The coffee filter measures 19.5 x 13 cm.

How to use your reusable coffee filter

Put your ground coffee directly into the coffee filter and use the filter as you usually in either a coffee machine or funnel.

The coffee filter is rinsed and hung to dry after each use. Nothing else is necessary, but you can use a mild detergent if you wish.

Maintenance of your reusable coffee filter

Before the first use and then every 6 - 8 weeks, the coffee filter should be boiled for 10 minutes to remove any coffee oils.

Organic soap berries - 1000 gr.

Organic soap berries - 1000 gr.

Cocoon Company

SOB-001000

1 kg. soap nuts from the Cocoon company.

2 small cotton bags are included that you can use as washing bags for your soap nuts.

What are soap nuts?

Soap nuts, or rather: soap berries, are a completely natural, organic and vegan detergent.

The soap nuts come from Inden, where they grow on big beautiful trees at the foot of The Himmalaya Mountains.

Washnuts are like berries with the nuts separated. So soapnuts are actually a misleading term, because only the berry is used for soap.

The soapnuts can be used for washing clothes, dishes, as shampoo, for shaving and for cleaning.

The soapnuts contain an organic substance called saponin. Saponin has an ability to dissolve and remove dirt.

The saponin is released when it comes into contact with water above 30 degrees and works like soap.

You therefore do not have to worry about whether the washing nuts release soap when the clothes are rinsed. Because the rinse water is cold and the soap nuts will therefore not release saponin into the cold water.

How are soap nuts used?

The saponin in the soap bars is released when they dissolve in water above 30 degrees.

The soap bars are placed in the included laundry bag and put into the drum of the washing machine.

The number of soap bars that you should use depends a little on how dirty the laundry is and how much you wash at a time.

Here you should try your hand a bit.

However, it is generally recommended to use 4-5 soap berries per load. wash.

If you live in an area with hard water, add calcifier if you live in an area with hard water.

Add bleach for white laundry.

The soap carriers work at washing temperatures between 30 and 90 degrees. However, you can use a liquid detergent, extracted from soap berries, for very short washes.

Alternatively, you can soak the soap bars in warm water for a while before use.

The soap bars are very gentle and also work very well for wool and silk.

How long can the soap nuts be used?

The soap nuts can be used for approx. 5 washes - depending on the temperatures you wash at.

High temperatures will release more saponin from the soap bars than low temperatures.

When the soap bars become light and soft, they are exhausted.

Please put the used soap bars in the compost after use.

Kapok pillow - 60x63

Cocoon Company

PLA-060063

Kapok pillow for adults

Head pillow in organic and soft kapok from Cocoon Company.

The pillow is hand-filled with untreated organic kapok, covered with a spring of 100% organically certified cotton.

The pillow is insulating and temperature-regulating and completely unique in a sleeping environment.

The pillow has a zipper so you can access the filling. You can therefore regulate the amount of filling yourself and possibly add it later if the pillow becomes too flat.

You can also use the filling if you want to wash the cover.

The pillow measures 60x63 cm.

Maintenance of your kapok pillow

Kapok is a natural fiber with quite unique properties.

And they are definitely worth taking good care of.

As a starting point, you should only wash your kapok pillow if it is strictly necessary.
The kapok fibers can be damaged by washing and clump together, so we therefore advise against washing, unless the pillow cannot be used without it.
For normal use, it is sufficient to simply air the pillow.

If the stains are smaller, we recommend spot washing.

But if it is necessary to wash your kapok pillow, do it like this:

How to wash your kapok pillow
  • Wash preferably at 40 degrees to protect the fibre. However, 60 degrees is possible if necessary.
  • Choose a short washing program, as the kapok cannot stand being wet for too long
  • Choose centrifugation at 1200 revolutions to get as much water as possible out of the kapok
  • Use a gentle detergent without enzymes or bleach. For example Cocoon's soap berry or a delicate detergent with or without probiotics
  • Do not use fabric softener
  • Dry the kapok pad immediately after washing

How to dry your kapok pillow
  • The kapok pillow is dried alone in the tumble dryer
  • Give yourself plenty of time. We recommend using dryer balls in wool to reduce drying time. They also ensure that the fibers are gently separated
  • Do not use tennis balls as they break the fiber
  • Choose a 30 minute program with medium heat. Look at the kapok pillow and repeat until it is slightly damp.
  • Let the kapok pillow dry in a warm place until the rest of the moisture is gone.
  • Be careful not to dry too long in the dryer, as this can reduce the life of the fiber.

You do this by placing it on its side once in a while.

If you have a bed with a slab base without air flow, you must pay particular attention to to air out your mattress.

Because the slab base will not be able to transport moisture and heat away from the mattress and in the worst case this can result in fungal spores at the bottom of your mattress.

The mattress is hand-stuffed with loose natural fibres, and therefore the mattress must be maintained once in a while as needed, where you put the mattress on its side and massage/press the fiber from the edge and towards the middle, where the mattress is under the most stress use. Natural sponge Honeycomb

Cocoon Company

HCS

Natural sponge from Cocoon Company for your plastic-free bath.

The natural sponge is of the model Honeycomb, which becomes fantastically soft in the bath and is ideal for both face and body.

The natural sponge cleans the skin gently and effectively and ensures healthy blood circulation in your skin.

The sponge has large channels that mean it easily absorbs water and soap - and also gets rid of it quite easily again.

The natural sponge is created by and in nature. It originates from the Mediterranean, where they grow at a depth of 10-80 metres. The mushrooms are "harvested" only a little at a time, so that the root of the mushroom can still grow new mushrooms.

Since the mushrooms are a natural product, they can vary in shape and size. Fortunately, that's the charm of nature:-)

Maintenance of your natural sponge

A natural sponge is incredibly durable and can last a very long time if you take care of it.

And you do that if you make sure to rinse it thoroughly after use, so that all soap residue is out of the sponge.

Then let the sponge dry. Avoid twisting the sponge - this can damage it. Instead, squeeze the water out of it.

If you use your sponge often, it will benefit from a salt water solution for 24 hours once a week.

Use approx. 125 gr. salt per liters of water for it. Then rinse it thoroughly and let it dry.

Wet mattress sheet for cradle - 40x90 cm

BWP-040090

Breathable wet bed sheet from Cocoon Company

Wet bed sheet or pee pad in organic cotton and with breathable membrane in bioplastic from Cocoon Company.

This wet bed sheet is quite unique.

It is both breathable and naturally degradable.

"Ordinary" wet bed sheets have a plastic membrane. This means that the body cannot breathe on top of it.

But this wet lying sheet is breathable and completely tight.

The membrane is made of TPU. It cannot be compared with PU plastic. It is both breathable, reusable and naturally degradable.

This wet bed sheet fits a cot measuring 40 x 90 cm.

The wet bed sheet measures 40 x 90 cm.

How do you use Cocoon's wet bed sheet?

The wet bed sheet is placed on top of the mattress, but under your normal sheet.

It provides the best sleeping comfort.

For the cradle mattress here, the wet bed sheet is simply placed loosely on top of the mattress. For larger mattresses, fasten the wet bed sheet around the mattress with the sewn-on elastics.

Wash your wet bed sheet

Only wash the wet bed sheet when necessary. In this way, you protect the environment and the sheet as much as possible.

We recommend that you wash the wet bed sheet at 40 degrees or a maximum of 60 degrees.

Please choose a washing program for heavy laundry, as the wet bed sheet can become heavy when washed, which some washing machines and/or washing programs have difficulty in spinning.

If the wet bed sheet is still very wet after washing, you may consider spin it an extra time.

The wet layer should not be dried in a tumble dryer. It should instead be hung to dry.

Note that the sheet can shrink 8-10%

Dryer balls in wool - 6 pcs

Cocoon Company

WDB-003003

Why should you use wool dryer balls?

Wool dryer balls can reduce the drying time in a tumble dryer by 25%

They can do this because the wool absorbs the moisture from the clothes and ensures that the laundry is separated in the machine.

The dryer balls thus save both the environment and your personal finances by reducing your energy consumption for drying.

The wool balls do the laundry soft and delicious and makes fabric softener completely unnecessary.

The dryer balls are produced in Nepal.

Here they are part of a social economic project where local farmers supply wool and labor for a fair wage and good working conditions.

The wool is not certified organic, as it comes from free-ranging animals.

How are dryer balls used in wool?

Minimum place 4-6 dryer balls in the dryer together with your wet clothes, the dryer balls will do the job for you.

The dryer balls absorb moisture and distribute the clothes well in the dryer. This means that the clothes dry faster and that the machine therefore stops earlier (provided that you use a program that stops when the clothes are dry)

Be aware that the wool balls work best in a tumble dryer that is not completely full. The dryer balls should have room to move in order to function optimally.

The dryer balls will be damp (inside) after use, so please give them the opportunity to dry up before you pack them away.

This package contains 6 wool balls. 3 of the balls are white - and are for light laundry and 3 balls are dark - you can use them for your dark clothes.

You can also just put all the balls in the dryer together:-)

The dryer balls can handle between 1000 and 1500 times in the dryer, so they will last for many years:-)

Natural mushroom Silk mushroom

Cocoon Company

FSS

Natural sponge from Cocoon Company for your plastic-free bath.

The natural sponge is a silk sponge that becomes fantastically soft in the bath and is ideal for both face and body.

The natural sponge cleans the skin gently and effectively and ensures healthy blood circulation in your skin.

The sponge has small channels that make it easily absorb water and soap - and also quite easily get rid of that again. Contrary to plastic sponges, which have small cavities where soap residues etc. can hide.

The natural sponge is created by and in nature. It originates from the Mediterranean where they grow at a depth of 15-50 meters.

The pillow measures 50x50 cm.

Maintenance of your kapok pillow

Kapok is a natural fiber with quite unique properties.
And they are definitely worth taking good care of.

However, it can clump together a little and if that happens, we have good experience of giving the pillow a trip in the dryer on medium heat for approx. half an hour together with dryer balls (preferably wool) as this will loosen the fibers again.

As a general rule, you should only wash your kapok pillow if it is strictly necessary.
The kapok fibers can be damaged by washing and clump together, so we therefore advise against washing, unless the pillow cannot be used without it.
For normal use, it is sufficient to simply air the pillow.

If the stains are smaller, we recommend spot wash.

But if it is necessary to wash your kapok pillow, you do it like this:

How to wash your kapok pillow
  • Wash preferably at 40 degrees to protect the fiber.
  • Dry the kapok pad immediately after wash

Kapok mattress from Cocoon Company

Organic kapok is, in my eyes, a luxury product of the very best. A 100% natural, durable and chemical-free product for your baby.

Kapok is a natural fiber that grows on the fruits of kapok trees in the tropical rainforests.

Kapok insulates, regulates temperature and transports moisture away from the body. Beautiful properties in a sleeping environment.

Kapok can be used by allergy sufferers, as it contains an antibacterial substance that house dust mites cannot live in.

A kapok mattress is firm as recommended by experts for babies and children.

Kapok mattresses do not contain mould, flame retardants or fluorine substances, which unfortunately most other mattresses do. And since the mattress cannot be washed before use, a natural and organic alternative is really worth a lot.

This kapok mattress for prams measures 37x96x3.5 cm.

The kapok mattress is hand-stuffed with untreated organic kapok, covered with a spring of 100% organically certified cotton.
Since it is hand-stuffed, there may be some variation in the goals.

Maintenance of your kapok mattress

It is a good idea to give your kapok mattress a little air from time to time.

You do this by placing it on its side from time to time.

If you have a bed with a slatted base without air flow, you must pay particular attention to airing your mattress.

Because the slatted base will not be able to transport moisture and heat away from the mattress and in the worst case this can result in fungal spores at the bottom of your mattress.

The mattress is hand-stuffed with loose natural fibres, and therefore the mattress must be maintained once in a while as needed, where you put the mattress on its edge and massage/press the fiber from the edge towards the middle, where the mattress is most stressed during use. Otherwise, the mattress can form a hole where the kapok fiber is pressed the most.

Organic soap berries - 250 gr.

Organic soap berries - 250 gr.

Cocoon Company

SOB-000250

250 ??gr. soap nuts from the Cocoon company.

1 small cotton bag is included, which you can use as a washing bag for your soap nuts.

Sapon is released on contact with water above 30 degrees and works like soap.

The soap bars are placed in the supplied laundry bag and put into the drum of the washing machine.

The number of soap bars that you should use, is somewhat dependent on how dirty the laundry is and how much you wash at a time.

Here you should try your hand a bit.

However, it is generally recommended to use 4-5 soap berries per load. wash.

If you live in an area with hard water, add calcifier if you live in an area with hard water.

Add bleach for white washes.

Kapok is also called silk cotton because its ultra-soft fibers. Kapok is light and breathable and transports moisture away from the body. The temperature-regulating effect makes it suitable both as a summer and winter down. The duvet is particularly suitable for those who find it difficult to keep warm at night or those who find it difficult to get rid of the heat.

Kapok is also recommended for allergy sufferers, as kapok contains an antibacterial substance that house dust mites cannot live in.

The duvet is filled with untreated organic kapok, with a spring of 100% organically certified cotton.

The duvet measures 140x220 cm.

Please note that the kapok duvet feels different from a regular down duvet. It is slightly heavier and resembles a wadding blanket.

Maintenance of your kapok duvet

Kapok is a natural fiber with quite unique properties.

And they are definitely worth taking good care of.

As a general rule, you should only wash your kapok duvet if it is strictly necessary.
The kapok fibers can be damaged during washing and clump together, so therefore we do not recommend washing, unless the duvet cannot be used without it.
For normal use, it is sufficient to simply air the duvet.

If the stains are smaller, we recommend spot washing.

But if it is necessary to wash your kapok duvet, then do it like this:

How to wash your kapok duvet
  • Wash preferably at 40 degrees to protect the fibre. However, 60 degrees is possible if necessary.
  • Choose a short washing program, as the kapok cannot stand being wet for too long
  • Choose centrifugation at 1200 revolutions to get as much water as possible out of the kapok
  • Use a gentle detergent without enzymes or bleach. For example Cocoon's soap berry or a delicate detergent with or without probiotics
  • Do not use fabric softener
  • Dry the kapok duvet immediately after washing

How to dry your kapok duvet
  • Kapok duvets are dried alone in the dryer
  • Give yourself plenty of time. We recommend using dryer balls in wool to reduce drying time. They also ensure that the fibers are gently separated
  • Do not use tennis balls as they break the fiber
  • Choose a 30 minute program with medium heat. Look at the kapok pillow and repeat until it is slightly damp.
  • Let the kapok duvet dry in a warm place until the rest of the moisture is gone.
  • Be careful not to dry for too long in the dryer, as this can reduce the life of the fiber.

Kapok mattress for cradle - 40x90 cm

Kapok mattress for cradle - 40x90 cm

Cocoon Company

MAT-040090

Kapok mattress from Cocoon Company

The kapok mattress is hand-filled with untreated organic kapok, covered with a spring made of 100% organically certified cotton.

This kapok mattress for crib measures 40x90x3.5 cm.

A kapok mattress is a natural and organic solution for your baby.

A kapok mattress is firm as recommended by experts for babies and children.

And the mattress does not contain formaldehyde, flame retardants or fluorine substances, which unfortunately most conventional foam mattresses do.

Kapok is a natural fiber that grows wild in the tropical rainforests.

It is produced sustainably and processed according to ecological standards.

The kapok fiber is insulating, temperature regulating and transports moisture away from the body - in the same way like wool.

These are really good properties in a sleeping environment. Especially for a small baby who may have difficulty regulating body temperature.

Kapok is recommended for allergy sufferers, as the fiber contains a natural antibacterial bitter substance that house dust mites cannot live in.

The Kapok mattress is hand-sewn and stuffed by hand, so please note that there may be slight differences in shape and measurements.

Maintenance of your kapok mattress

It is a good idea to give your kapok mattress a little air from time to time.

You do this by placing it on its side from time to time.

If you have a bed with a slab base without air flow, you must pay particular attention to airing your mattress.

Because the slab base will not be able to transport moisture and heat away from the mattress and in the worst case this can result in fungal spores at the bottom of your mattress.

Organic soap berries - 500 gr.

Organic soap berries - 500 gr.

Cocoon Company

SOB-000500

500 gr. soap nuts from the Cocoon company.

1 cotton bag is included that you can use as washing bags for your soap nuts.

Saponin is released on contact with water above 30 degrees and works like soap.

You therefore do not have to worry about whether the washing nuts release soap when the clothes are rinsed. Because the rinse water is cold and the washing nuts will therefore not release saponin into the cold water.

How are washing nuts used?

The saponin in the soap bars is released when they dissolve in water above 30 degrees.

The soap bars are placed in the supplied laundry bag and put into the drum of the washing machine.

The number of soap berries that you should use depends a little on how dirty the laundry is and how much you wash at a time.

Here you should experiment a bit.

However, it is generally recommended to use 4-5 soap berries per load. wash.

If you live in an area with hard water, add calcifier if you live in an area with hard water.

Add bleach for white laundry.

The soap carriers work at washing temperatures between 30 and 90 degrees. However, you can advantageously use a liquid detergent, extracted from soap berries, for very short washes.

See our large laundry guide here.

Wet bed sheet for baby bed - 60x120 cm

Wet bed sheet for baby bed - 60x120 cm

Cocoon Company

BWP-060120

Breathable wet bed sheet from Cocoon Company

Wet bed sheet or pee pad in organic cotton and with breathable membrane in bioplastic from Cocoon Company.

This wet bed sheet is quite unique.

It is both breathable and naturally degradable.

"Ordinary" wet bed sheets have a plastic membrane. This means that the body cannot breathe on top of it.

But this wet lying sheet is breathable and completely tight.

The membrane is made of TPU. It cannot be compared with PU plastic. It is breathable, reusable and naturally degradable.

This wet bed sheet fits a baby bed measuring 60 x 120 cm.

The wet bed sheet measures 59 x 119 cm.

How do you use Cocoon's wet bed sheet?

The wet bed sheet is placed on top of the mattress, but underneath your ordinary sheet.

It provides the best lying comfort.

For small mattresses, the wet bed sheet is simply placed loosely on top of the mattress.

Please choose a washing program for heavy laundry, as the wet bed sheet can become heavy when washed, which some washing machines and/or washing programs find difficult to spin.

If the wet bed sheet is still very wet after washing, you can consider spinning it an extra time time.

The wet layer should not be dried in a tumble dryer. It should instead be hung to dry.

Note that the sheet can shrink 8-10%
