What are soap nuts?

The soap nuts come from Inden, where they grow on big beautiful trees at the foot of The Himmalaya Mountains.

Washnuts are like berries with the nuts separated. So soapnuts are actually a misleading term, because only the berry is used for soap.

The soapnuts can be used for washing clothes, dishes, as shampoo, for shaving and for cleaning.

The soapnuts contain an organic substance called saponin. Saponin has an ability to dissolve and remove dirt.

The saponin is released when it comes into contact with water above 30 degrees and works like soap.

You therefore do not have to worry about whether the washing nuts release soap when the clothes are rinsed. Because the rinse water is cold and the soap nuts will therefore not release saponin into the cold water.

How are soap nuts used?

The soap bars are placed in the included laundry bag and put into the drum of the washing machine.

The number of soap bars that you should use depends a little on how dirty the laundry is and how much you wash at a time.

Here you should try your hand a bit.

However, it is generally recommended to use 4-5 soap berries per load. wash.

If you live in an area with hard water, add calcifier if you live in an area with hard water.

Add bleach for white laundry.

The soap carriers work at washing temperatures between 30 and 90 degrees. However, you can use a liquid detergent, extracted from soap berries, for very short washes.

Alternatively, you can soak the soap bars in warm water for a while before use.

The soap bars are very gentle and also work very well for wool and silk.

This detergent is based on saponin from soapnuts/soapberries, which grow on the Sapindus Mukorosse tree. The wash nuts are, as it were, berries, from which the nuts have been separated. So soap nuts are actually a misleading term, because only the berry is used for soap.

The 850 gr. enough for approx. 57 washes

You only need to use approx. 15 gr. powder per wash (with a 4-5 kg ??machine.)

The detergent is suitable for colored clothes. It does not contain bleach

How do you use this detergent?

• >30% sodium carbonate
• 5-15% silicate
• 5-15% sodium bicarbonate
• Trisodium citrate
• <5% soapnut powder in organic quality
• Olive soap powder

• Olive soap powder

• Machine wash (4.5 kg clothes): 30 ml detergent

• Hand wash: 15 ml in wash tub
• For hard water: Increase the dose to up to 60 ml
• Lightly soiled clothes: From 30 ºC
• Sweat and grease stains: Minimum 40 ºC
• White clothes: Add 1-2 tbsp. Powder bleach and wash at a minimum of 55 °C
• Very dirty colored clothes: Pre-treat or soak overnight in warm water with 1-2 tbsp. washing gel

Advice for optimal washing

• Use bile soap or a natural stain remover before washing.
• Do not use ordinary fabric softener – it reduces the functional properties of the garment. Instead, use Tierra Verde's rinse for natural fibers to neutralize the pH and remove soap residue.
• Always follow the washing instructions on the garment to preserve its technical functions.

Chemical minimalism
This washing gel is created with respect for human health and the environment. Therefore, there are no petrochemical substances, chlorine, synthetic perfumes or dyes in the product. Everything is formulated with a view to minimizing the load on the planet – without compromising on cleaning ability.

Usage

• Machine wash (4.5 kg laundry): 30 ml detergent
• Hand wash: 15 ml in wash basin
• In hard water: Increase dosage up to 60 ml
• Lightly soiled laundry: From 30 ºC
• Sweat and grease stains: Minimum 40 ºC
• White clothes: Add 1-2 tbsp. of Percarbonate bleach and wash at minimum 55 ºC
• Very dirty coloured clothes: Pre-treat or soak overnight in warm water with 1-2 tbsp. detergent gel
