Description

A firm and breathable mattress for the first years
Babies sleep many hours a day, so the surface matters a lot. This kapok mattress for the Sebra Kili bed is firm, as the health authorities recommend for babies, and is handmade in pure organic materials.

The mattress is stuffed with organic kapok and covered with GOTS-certified organic cotton. The kapok fibre is light and airy and conducts heat and moisture away, so the child becomes neither too hot nor clammy cold during the night.

The mattress is firmer in the beginning, as the kapok fibre is completely new and puffed up, but becomes softer as the mattress is used and the kapok fibre settles. If you want to give it extra softness from the start, you can place a kapok mattress topper on top.

NOTE: this mattress is for an earlier design of the Sebra bed. If you have a new Sebra bed, you need to get this mattress for the Sebra bed.

Kapok mattress for pram - 37 x 96 cm

Cocoon Company

MAT-037096

Why kapok?
The kapok fibre is a thin-walled, hollow tube filled with up to 80% air. That makes it extremely light – only about an eighth of the weight of cotton – and breathable at the same time. The fibre has a natural waxy coating that makes it water-repellent, so it does not soak up moisture. Instead, moisture and heat can escape from the body, which is why a kapok mattress is known for a dry, even sleeping climate where you are neither clammy, cold nor too warm.

Handmade in India
The fibre is filled and sewn by hand by local craftspeople in India, and the cover is GOTS-certified organic cotton.

Tested to EU safety requirements
The mattress has been tested and approved to the European standard for children's mattresses, EN 16890:2017+A1:2021.

Size
The mattress measures 37x96 cm. It is filled and sewn by hand, so the dimensions may vary slightly.

Caring for the mattress
Take the mattress out and stand it on its side now and then so it can air out. Kapok is a loose natural fibre, so at the same time massage the fibre from the edges towards the middle to help the mattress keep its shape.
