Kapok duvet - double duvet

Organic double duvet with extra length and extra width in soft and temperature-regulating kapok.

Kapok - also called silk cotton because of its ultra-soft fibres. Kapok is a light and breathable material that transports moisture away from the body. The temperature-regulating effect makes it suitable all year round. The duvet is very suitable if you find it difficult to keep warm at night - or find it difficult to get rid of the heat. And under this model, two people can sleep.

Kapok is also recommended for allergy sufferers, as the kapok fiber contains an antibacterial substance that house dust mites cannot live in.

The duvet is filled with untreated organic kapok, with a spring of 100% organically certified cotton.

Please note that kapok duvets feel different from ordinary down duvets. It is a little heavier and resembles a cotton blanket at first. Primarily because the fiber shrinks over time, so that it is stopped well, so that it does not become too flat during use.

Maintenance of your kapok duvet

• Dry the kapok duvet immediately after washing

• Kapok duvets are dried alone in the dryer
• Give yourself plenty of time. We recommend using dryer balls in wool to reduce drying time. They also ensure that the fibers are gently separated
• Do not use tennis balls as they break the fiber
• Choose a 30 minute program with medium heat. Look at the kapok pillow and repeat until it is slightly damp.
• Let the kapok duvet dry in a warm place until the rest of the moisture is gone.
• Be careful not to dry too long in the dryer, as this can reduce the life of the fiber.

Maintenance of your woolen duvet from Cocoon Company

A woolen duvet should not be washed. The lanolin in the wool is because the lanolin in the wool is important for the duvet's temperature-regulating function - and the lanolin is quietly washed out by the duvet when it is washed.

A wool duvet from Cocoon Company is one of the softest things you can imagine.

A wool duvet is a soft and temperature-regulating choice. The wool's content of lanolin enables it to absorb moisture from the body - without the duvet becoming damp in itself.

Liquid detergent with descaling in a 5-litre can from Ulrich Natürlich.

This detergent is for colored washing.

The detergent can be used at all washing temperatures.

The liquid detergent contains washing active substances from coconut oil, vegetable soaps and lactic acid. The lactic acid removes limescale and gives the detergent a skin-friendly pH value.

The detergent contains no colour, fragrance, preservatives, optical white or petrochemical substances. Nor the substance phosphate, which is harmful to the environment.

If, like me, you live in the countryside without connection to a municipal sewage treatment plant, then phosphate-free products are the absolute most conscious alternative.

1 liter of detergent is enough for approx. 33 washing. The detergent is highly concentrated, so do not dose more than 30 ml. per wash with a 4.5 kg machine.

If you live in an area with a very high level of lime in the water, you can advantageously add extra lactic acid to your wash. For example this one.

Small lunch bag from the Dutch Bag-again.

The food bag can be washed in a washing machine at 30 degrees. But you don't need to wash it that often unless it has gotten downright dirty.

Kapok summer duvet

Kapok summer duvet is approx. half as much filling as a regular kapok duvet and is therefore very suitable for a hot summer or for those who just feel extra warm at night. The half amount of filling also means that it is not as robust as the year-round duvet, understood in the sense that the filling will tangle more easily during use. It can create small cold bridges in the sewn areas of the duvet. So be careful to keep washing to an absolute minimum and instead hang duvets for airing.

Kapok is also called silk cotton. It is light and breathable and transports moisture away from the body.

Kapok is also recommended for allergy sufferers, as kapok contains an antibacterial bitter substance that house dust mites cannot live in.

The duvet is hand-filled with untreated organic kapok, covered with a spring of 100% organically certified cotton.

The duvet measures 140x220 cm.

Weather Please note that kapok duvets can feel different from ordinary down duvets. It is slightly heavier than down and perhaps a little more like a cotton blanket.

How to use your Stasher Bag

As you have probably already discovered, Stasher Bags can be used for a great deal. Here are some tips for use in the oven, microwave, sous vide pot and freezer.

Stasher in the oven: Place your open bag on a baking tray and put it in the oven. We recommend heating at a maximum of 210 degrees. And leave the bag slightly open so that the steam can escape.Stasher in the microwave: Leave the bag open here too when you heat food in the microwave. If you are going to make popcorn, we recommend a Stasher Stand-up. It gives a little more space to pop.Stasher in Sous vide pot: Put the food in the bag and slowly lower it into the water. Tips for Stasher Bags

Write on your Stasher Bag with a whiteboard pen. It comes off easily in the wash

Your Stasher Bag may be discolored by certain foods (tomato and the like). A little smell can also be transferred if you have used your stasher bag for strong foods. Both parts can be remedied with a little baking soda and lemon.

If they get a little discolored over time, you can use vinegar and baking soda to remove them, and if that doesn't work, we have another tip up our sleeve as well.

If you have Stasher bags in Clear or lighter versions, the best way to remove discoloration is to actually let the sun do the work. If you leave your bags out in the sun for a few hours or 3, the UV rays will work to remove the discolouration.

Of course, that requires it to be out in the sky.

You can also remove food smells by putting your stasher bags in the oven at 175 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
Make sure they cool down again before handling them.

You can also soak them in hot water with a little vinegar and salt for an hour. It can also help.

And then the best tip is probably just to use it again and again and again :-)

So please air your duvet regularly. Especially frosty weather is good for airing the duvet.

If the duvet is to be washed, it can be washed at 60 degrees, but preferably lower, so that you protect the fine corn fiber and take a little extra care of the environment.

Make sure to run the wash at low revolutions - again to take good care of the fine corn fiber so that it does not tangle. However, should this happen, you can easily filter out the fibers again.

Dry the duvet in a tumble dryer at medium heat. Very happy with these drying balls, which reduce the drying time by approx. 25%.

However, it can clump together a little and if that happens, we have good experience of giving the pillow a trip in the dryer on medium heat for approx. half an hour together with dryer balls (preferably wool) as this will loosen the fibers again.

If the stains are smaller, we recommend spot washing.

But if it is necessary to wash your kapok pillow, do it like this:

How to wash your kapok pillow

• Wash preferably at 40 degrees to protect the fiber. However, 60 degrees is possible if necessary.
• Choose a short washing program, as the kapok cannot stand being wet for too long
• Choose centrifugation at 1200 revolutions to get as much water as possible out of the kapok
• Use a gentle detergent without enzymes or bleach. For example Cocoon's soap berry or a delicate detergent with or without probiotics
• Do not use fabric softener
• Dry the kapok pad immediately after wash

• The kapok pillow is dried alone in the tumble dryer
• Give yourself plenty of time. We recommend using dryer balls in wool to reduce drying time. They also ensure that the fibers are gently separated
• Do not use tennis balls as they break the fiber
• Choose a 30 minute program with medium heat. Look at the kapok pillow and repeat until it is slightly damp.
• Let the kapok pillow dry in a warm place until the rest of the moisture is gone.
• Be careful not to dry too long in the dryer, as this can reduce the life of the fiber.

Maintenance of the wool pigeon from Cocoon Company

A wool pigeon should be washed as little as possible. The lanolin in the wool is important for the function of the duvet - and the lanolin is quietly washed out of the product when it is washed in the machine.

On the other hand, it is a super good idea to air the duvet regularly. It is good for the humidity in the duvet and for the lightness.

However, if an accident has occurred, so there is no way around it, you should wash with lanolin-containing detergent on the wool program - max. 30 degrees and max. 800 revolutions.

Wool duvets must never be tumble-dried, but must instead be left to dry.

These natural knives are a fine, strong and good natural alternative to disposable cutlery and plastic cutlery.

What is pour over coffee?

Pour over coffee brewing is really just coffee brewing as it was done in the good old days.

In other words, where you pour your boiled water directly over coffee in a funnel.

The coffee tastes fantastic this way. It will be round and soft and in no way bitter.

You just have to make sure that your water is between 92 and 96 degrees, to use good organic coffee beans and preferably coffee beans that are freshly ground.

And then you can also choose to wet the filter with the boiled water before you pour the coffee in and discard the water. If, then, you think the time is right - it is not a necessity.

When you pour the water over the coffee, you can advantageously use circular movements so that all the coffee gets wet. Please give the water time to run through.

How to use your Chemex coffee maker

The Chemex coffee maker is quite cleverly designed, as you have both a coffee funnel and a jug in one.
