Microplastic-free dishcloth - Poppy

HappyEco

HAE-64566

Microplastic-free cloth from HappyEco

Microplastic-free all-purpose cloth with print from HappyEco

The cloth is also known as "Swedish dishcloths"

Variant: Poppy

The dishcloth measures 17.2 x 20 cm.

When the dishcloth is dry, it feels hard and when it becomes wet, it is soft and comfortable.

What is the microplastic-free dishcloth made of?

The microplastic-free dishcloths from HappyEco are a conscious alternative to conventional cloths in synthetic fibers.

The cloths are made of natural cellulose, which is based on wood fibers and cotton waste. They are biodegradable and compostable.

The cellulose comes from FSC-approved trees and the cotton residues are from the textile industry, where they would otherwise have become textile waste.

The ink used for the print is water-based and conscious.

Why should you choose this microplastic-free dishcloth?

  • The plastic-free dishcloth has a light scrubbing effect - just like cotton - and is therefore suitable for cleaning.
  • The dish cloths are 100% free of microplastics and therefore do not emit any microplastic particles into the water environment during use or washing.
  • Can be used again and again
  • When the cloth is worn out and can do no more, you can put it in the compost - it composts in 8-12 weeks.

Maintenance of your dish cloths from HappyEco

The cloths can be washed in the washing machine at up to 90 degrees

Or you can put them in the dishwasher.

Avoid drying the cloths in the dryer.

See tips and tricks for cleaning in our store cleaning guide

The cloth is produced in Sweden.

It comes completely unpackaged - just has a sticker on the back with a barcode and short info.

Kapok summer duvet - 140x200 cm

Cocoon Company

DUL-140200

Kapok summer duvet

Organic summer duvet in soft and temperature-regulating kapok.

Kapok summer duvet is approx. half as much filling as a regular kapok duvet and is therefore very suitable for a hot summer or for those who just feel extra warm at night. The half amount of filling also means that it is not as robust as the year-round duvet, understood in the sense that the filling will tangle more easily during use. It can create small cold bridges in the sewn areas of the duvet. So be careful to keep washing to an absolute minimum and instead hang duvets for airing.

Kapok is also called silk cotton. It is light and breathable and transports moisture away from the body.

Kapok is also recommended for allergy sufferers, as kapok contains an antibacterial bitter substance that house dust mites cannot live in.

The quilt is hand-filled with untreated organic kapok, covered with a spring of 100% organically certified cotton.

The quilt measures 140x200 cm.

The weighs approx. 1200 grams.

Be aware that kapok duvets may feel different from ordinary down duvets. It is slightly heavier than down and perhaps a little more like a cotton blanket.

Maintenance of your kapok duvet

Kapok is a natural fiber with quite unique properties.

And they are definitely worth taking good care of.

As a general rule, you should only wash your kapok duvet if it is strictly necessary.
The kapok fibers can be damaged by washing and clumping. together, so we therefore advise against washing, unless the duvet cannot be used without it.
For normal use, it is sufficient to simply air the duvet.

If the stains are smaller, we recommend spot washing.

But if it is necessary to wash your kapok duvet, do it like this:

How to wash your kapok duvet
  • Wash at 40 degrees to be gentle the fiber. However, 60 degrees is possible if necessary.
  • Choose a short washing program, as the kapok cannot stand being wet for too long
  • Choose centrifugation at 1200 revolutions to get as much water as possible out of the kapok
  • Use a gentle detergent without enzymes or bleach. For example Cocoon's soap berry or a delicate detergent with or without probiotics
  • Do not use fabric softener
  • Dry the kapok duvet immediately after washing

How to dry your kapok duvet
  • Kapok duvets are dried alone in the dryer
  • Give yourself plenty of time. We recommend using dryer balls in wool to reduce drying time. They also ensure that the fibers are gently separated
  • Do not use tennis balls as they break the fiber
  • Choose a 30 minute program with medium heat. Look at the kapok pillow and repeat until it is slightly damp.
  • Let the kapok duvet dry in a warm place until the rest of the moisture is gone.
  • Be careful not to dry for too long in the dryer, as this can reduce the life of the fiber.

Carbon rod - Kishu Binchotan - Mini

Kulvand

KUL-10009

Activated carbon is a form of carbon that undergoes a special activation process that makes it extremely porous. This significantly increases the surface area of ??the coal, making it very effective at absorbing various pollutants. Activated carbon can attract and bind to harmful chemicals, toxins and unwanted odors. It is widely used in water filtration systems and other healthcare products due to its ability to purify and improve water quality. Kishu Binchotan, a traditional Japanese form of activated charcoal, is specially designed to purify drinking water and add beneficial minerals. This makes it a natural choice for those who want cleaner and healthier water without using disposable plastic filters.

Benefits of Kishu Binchotan activated carbon

  1. Natural choice: Kishu Binchotan is a natural, recyclable product that lasts for several months and can then be recycled into the soil.
  2. Improved water quality: In addition to filtering water, the charcoal stick adds healthy minerals, which make the water both tasty and more beneficial for health.
  3. Easy to use: Put the charcoal stick in water and after a few hours you have clean drinking water. The stick can be used again and again.
  4. Natural filtration without chemicals: The carbon stick effectively removes impurities without adding chemicals or plastic waste.

This size has an average weight of 7-10 gr. and measures 10-12 cm. and 0.5-1 cm.

This carbon rod cleans 1/2 liter water of approx. 4 hoursand also fits perfectly into a drinking bottle.

When you receive your charcoal stick, do the following:

  • Rinse the charcoal thoroughly in water (without soap)
  • Put the activated charcoal in a pan of cold water, heat it up and boil for ten minutes. It cleans the charcoal and activates the cleaning processes.
  • Take the charcoal out of the pot and let it cool down
  • Put the charcoal in a jug or other container and pour water over it
  • After six hours the water is cleaned and ready for use
  • Refill as much as you want
  • Boil the charcoal rod approx. 1 time per month according to the above procedure. It will reactivate the charcoal and remove the substances that the charcoal has taken up. Write it down if necessary. in your calendar so you remember it.

The coal can last for at least 90 days - and often much more. You will be able to taste when you need to replace the charcoal.

The charcoal rods may break during the cooking process. It has no effect on the effect of the charcoal.

Once your activated charcoal has served its water purification purpose, you can use it as an air purifier. It is super effective for cleaning the air indoors and ensuring good air humidity.

You can also use it to remove odors from shoes, sports bags or the fridge.

When you can't find more uses for the charcoal stick, you can simply throw it in the compost bin or in the flower bed. It's super effective as fertilizer too :-)

Essential Peppermint Oil - 10 ml

Essential Peppermint Oil - 10 ml

Naturligolie

NAO-10135

Peppermint oil - a fresh and uplifting essential oil.

If you make your own face and body care products, it can be delicious to add essential oils to the products.

Or if you use detergent without fragrance, you can also add a little freshness to your laundry with these scented oils.

Pure, essential peppermint oil

Peppermint oil is extracted by steam distillation from Indian peppermint herb and smells characteristically fresh of mint.

Peppermint oil is rich in menthol, which feels cooling and muscle relaxing on the skin.

In aromatherapy, peppermint oil is used for better digestion, respiratory tract and ability to concentrate.

This fresh peppermint oil is a 100% pure, essential oil.

It comes in a small UV-protective glass with a drop insert, so it is easy to dose correctly and you avoid wasting valuable drops.

There is 10 ml of oil in the glass.

How to use essential oil for your laundry

You can also easily use essential oil for laundry if, for example, you use detergent without fragrance but still want the laundry to smell bit.
  • If you use soap berries, you can add a few drops to the cotton bag with soap berries, which should be in the washing machine.
  • If you use detergent in the "drawer", you can dilute the oil (1:10) with water and add it to the room with fabric softener.
  • If the clothes are to be tumble-dried, you can add a few drops to your wool balls. Let them absorb the oil for 10-15 min, for the best result, before putting them in the dryer.

See our large laundry guide here.

INCI: Citrus paradisi

Essential oils and allergies

All the essential oils in our range are natural fragrances without chemistry. They are extracted by distilling plants and plant parts with special aromatic properties.

The oils are for example from herbs, leaves, flowers, needles, twigs, leaves, roots, nuts, seeds and bark.

However, although essential oils are natural oils, you may well be hypersensitive to them. It is therefore important that you dilute the essential oils in other (natural and good) oils or water.

Essential oils must never be used undiluted on the skin.Essential oils should also not be used on children or by pregnant women.

Make your own mixtures for natural skin care

Do you lack knowledge and inspiration for good oil mixtures and DIY body care products with natural oils? Then we can highly recommend this wildly delicious DIY book by Vibeke Epstrup: Vegetable oils in face and body care.

Wet bed sheet for Sebra Kili bed - 70x110 cm

Cocoon Company

BWP-072114

Breathable wet bed sheet from Cocoon Company

Wet bed sheet or pee pad in organic cotton and with breathable membrane in bioplastic from Cocoon Company.

This wet bed sheet is quite unique.

It is both breathable and naturally degradable.

"Ordinary" wet bed sheets have a plastic membrane. This means that the body cannot breathe on top of it.

But this wet lying sheet is breathable and completely tight.

The membrane is made of TPU. It cannot be compared with PU plastic. It is both breathable, reusable and naturally degradable.

This wet bed sheet fits a Sebra Kili baby bed measuring 70 x 110 cm.

How do you use Cocoon's wet bed sheet?

The wet bed sheet is placed on top of the mattress, but under your regular sheet.

It provides the best lying comfort.

For small mattresses, the wet bed sheet is simply placed loosely on top of the mattress. For larger mattresses, fasten the wet bed sheet around the mattress with the sewn-on elastics.

Wash your wet bed sheet

Only wash the wet bed sheet when necessary. In this way, you protect the environment and the sheet as much as possible.

We recommend that you wash the wet bed sheet at 40 degrees or a maximum of 60 degrees.

Please choose a washing program for heavy laundry, as the wet bed sheet can become heavy when washed, which some washing machines and/or washing programs find difficult to spin.

If the wet bed sheet is still very wet after washing, you can consider spinning it an extra time time.

The wet layer should not be dried in a tumble dryer. It should instead be hung to dry.

Note that the sheet can shrink 8-10%

Latex gloves - size M

La droguerie écologique

LDE-31514

Latex gloves for cleaning

Although you most likely use chemical-free cleaning agents, it can be hard on your hands to be in water for a long time, and sometimes you also have to use slightly harsher agents to get rid of the worst dirt

- therefore it is a good idea to have a pair of latex gloves to protect the skin on your hands. We have found a version that we at Økofamily can vouch for.

The gloves here are made in Europe by French La droguerie écologique; a brand that strikes a blow for both gentle production and clean materials and local, European workplaces. So we really like that! They are thus a good alternative to traditional rubber gloves and plastic gloves.

These cleaning gloves are made of rubber from FSC certified plantations.

The latex gloves can be used for washing dishes, various household tasks, gardening etc.

There is one pair in the box in size M and in the color green.

The gloves come in a reusable cardboard packaging.

Using latex gloves

Always rinse the cleaning gloves with water after use. (Be careful and remember to pay some attention to the environment if you have used chemical products.)

    Magnetic soap holder - Smart

    Savont

    SAV-40557

Savont is a German company that produces soap containers with magnets and suction cups.

The idea is really that you should not be able to see it at all once it holds the soap.
Less is more and the soap looks as if it is floating where you hang it, whether it is in the sink itself in the shower cubicle or the bathtub.

It is a brilliant solution for storing your soap, so it dries completely between uses and in that way you make it last longer and ensure that bacteria does not collect in a small lake of water after use.

And with this solution you neither need to drill in nor glue anything to your wall, it can be placed on any smooth and clean surface.

    How to do it

    • Clean the surface on which you want the suction cup to sit
    • Place stick the suction cup on the desired surface

Compostable waste bags with drawstring - 30 litres

    BioBag

    BIB-10828

Please note that the bags are breathable. This means that wet food waste can evaporate and thereby reduce rotting and bad odours. We therefore recommend that you use a ventilated kitchen bin for the waste bags, so that together with the bags, it can ensure that the food waste evaporates. It is therefore important to empty the bag often, so that it does not remain with wet waste for too long.

The bags do not begin to compost simply with normal storage, but will lose their elasticity over time.

    White vinegar 10% - 5 liters

    Tierra Verde

    TIV-18574

What can you use white vinegar for?
Vinegar is a real multi-talent in the home, and here are some of its many uses:

    • Removing limescale
Perfect for the bathroom and kitchen – dissolves limescale from sinks, showers, tiles and fixtures.

    • Polishing and shine
Gives stainless steel and chrome a nice shine. Spray on, rinse with water and polish afterwards with a soft cloth.

    • Windows and floors
Add a little vinegar to the washing water and experience sparkling clean windows and floors.

    • Relax and clean
In combination with baking soda, it is ideal for cleaning cutting boards, snack boxes and dirty sinks. Spray vinegar first, let it work, sprinkle baking soda on and then dry with a sponge or loofah.

    • Odor remover in drains and bins
Combine with Puer bleach powder: pour 1-2 tablespoons of Puer into the drain, followed by 1 cup of hot vinegar. The foam effect loosens grease and dirt – leave on for 15 min. and rinse with warm water.

How to use white vinegar for cleaning

    1. Spray directly on the surface with a spray bottle.

    2. Spread with a sponge, loofah or toothbrush in hard-to-reach places.

    3. Let the vinegar work for a few minutes and rinse with water.

    4. For stubborn dirt: Repeat the treatment or place a cloth with vinegar over the area.

NOTE: Do not use vinegar on natural stone, marble, granite or untreated wood. Always test first on a less visible area.

    Ingredients
Fermented white vinegar 10% (acetic acid CAS 64-19-7)

    A thoughtful choice
Tierra Verde prioritizes chemical minimalism – therefore, this product contains no petroleum-derived substances, chlorine, synthetic perfumes or dyes. It breaks down quickly and gently in nature and is suitable for households with a focus on health & allergy friendliness.

Kitchen Towel #106 - Odds & Ends - Wild Weave

    Foekje Fleur

    FOF-36977

    Odds & Ends

Colorful home textiles – made from surplus materials from industry

When factories dye yarn for textile production, an extra stock is often made just in case – but much of this yarn ends up unused. Odds & Ends textiles are designed to make full use of these scraps and create endless, unexpected color combinations.

    Collections & Colors

Odds & Ends collections are produced in batches. The factory collects surplus materials and uses these colors to create a new design, which is then put into production. The precise design is just the starting point – during production, some of the residual materials are used up and replaced with similar colors.

Therefore, the images you see are an indicative representation of how the textiles look, but there will be slight variations within each batch.

    Colours may vary

As these textiles are produced in small batches from surplus materials, colors may vary. However, the general color palette is always preserved, so that textiles within the same color scale can be easily combined. The product you receive may be identical to or have slight variations compared to the images on this page. The duo set consists of one textile in primarily cold tones and one in primarily warm tones.

    Washing and care instructions

All Odds & Ends textiles can be washed at 30°C in the washing machine's cotton program together with similar colours. To preserve the intensity of the colors, an organic detergent is recommended for colored washing.

To extend the life of the textiles, air drying is recommended, but terrycloth products such as soft towels – especially those with a velor surface – may benefit from an occasional tumble dryer on medium heat to soften the fibers without the use of chemical fabric softeners.

If you live in an area with chalky water, you can soften both your textiles and washing machine by adding citric acid or vinegar to the rinse cycle from time to time.

    Loose Threads

This product is woven with terry loops to ensure a soft and absorbent quality. Newly woven terry loops can be more prone to loose threads, so be careful with jewelry when first worn.

If a thread should come loose, never pull it! Carefully cut it off with sharp scissors – this will prevent further loose threads and will not affect the woven structure of the textiles. After the first few washes, the fibers will become more resistant to snags.

Beeswax Wrap Roll - Von Herzen - XL

    Little Bee Fresh

    LBF-43683

    Stefanie Steinmayer
This unique design was created by Lindau artist Stefanie Steinmayer, whose signature hearts now decorate the popular beeswax wraps. It is functional art that keeps your food fresh twice as long.

Stefanie Steinmayer has worked for over 30 years in her studio on the island of Lindau by Lake Constance, primarily creating art with handmade paper. Her absolute favorite theme is hearts, and in this unique collaboration with Little Bee Fresh, her distinctive, colorful hearts now adorn the organic beeswax wraps.

It is a collection created "from the heart" and serves as a beautiful gift idea for any occasion.

    Cut to your needs

Have you ever stood with a bowl where the lid was missing, or a piece of bread that didn't fit your current beeswax wraps? The beeswax paper roll from Little Bee Fresh is the solution. With a size of 32 x 70 cm, you can simply cut your own individual wraps to fit your kitchen perfectly.

    Why choose beeswax paper?

Beeswax has natural antibacterial properties that help keep foods like cheese, bread, fruit, and vegetables fresh for longer. Using the warmth of your hands, the wrap becomes flexible and adheres easily to itself or smooth surfaces.

It is a natural way to wrap food – entirely without the use of plastic.

    Materials

GOTS-certified organic cotton, organic beeswax from regional German beekeepers, and natural resin. Completely free of jojoba oil.

    Usage

The warmth of your hands makes the wrap flexible so it adheres to itself and all smooth surfaces. When you place the food in the refrigerator, the wax hardens again and holds its shape.

It is ideal for fruit, vegetables, bread, baked goods, and hard cheeses. You can also use it to cover bowls and dishes or even for freezing. Should not be used for raw meat, fish, or very fatty foods like butter.

    Care

Clean easily with cold water and mild, alcohol-free soap. Air dry and reuse. Avoid direct sunlight and heat sources, as wax is heat-sensitive.

    Manufacturing

Handmade with love at the factory by Lake Constance in Germany.

Kapok mattress for pram - 37x96 cm

    Cocoon Company

    MAT-037096

    Kapok mattress from Cocoon Company

Organic kapok is, in my eyes, a luxury product of the very best. A 100% natural, durable and chemical-free product for your baby.

Kapok is a natural fiber that grows on the fruits of kapok trees in the tropical rainforests.

Kapok insulates, regulates temperature and transports moisture away from the body. Beautiful properties in a sleeping environment.

Kapok can be used by allergy sufferers, as it contains an antibacterial substance that house dust mites cannot live in.

A kapok mattress is firm as recommended by experts for babies and children.

Kapok mattresses do not contain mould, flame retardants or fluorine substances, which unfortunately most other mattresses do. And since the mattress cannot be washed before use, a natural and organic alternative is really worth a lot.

This kapok mattress for prams measures 37x96x3.5 cm.

The kapok mattress is hand-stuffed with untreated organic kapok, covered with a spring of 100% organically certified cotton.
Since it is hand-stuffed, there may be some variation in the goals.

    Maintenance of your kapok mattress

It is a good idea to give your kapok mattress a little air from time to time.

You do this by placing it on its side from time to time.

If you have a bed with a slatted base without air flow, you must pay particular attention to airing your mattress.

Because the slatted base will not be able to transport moisture and heat away from the mattress and in the worst case this can result in fungal spores at the bottom of your mattress.

The mattress is hand-stuffed with loose natural fibres, and therefore the mattress must be maintained once in a while as needed, where you put the mattress on its edge and massage/press the fiber from the edge towards the middle, where the mattress is most stressed during use. Otherwise, the mattress can form a hole where the kapok fiber is pressed the most.

Kapok baby duvet and pillow set - 70x100

Kapok baby duvet and pillow set - 70x100

    Cocoon Company

    KAM-070100

Kapok duvet and pillow for baby

Fantastic set with a baby duvet and a baby pillow in organic kapok.

Kapok is a unique material that is both temperature regulating and insulating.

Kapok, also called silk cotton, is light and breathable and transports moisture away from the body. The temperature-regulating effect makes it suitable as both a summer and winter duvet and especially suitable for small children who may have difficulty regulating their body temperature. Use the set both for the bed and for the pram.

Kapok is recommended for allergy sufferers, as natural kapok contains an antibacterial substance that house dust mites cannot live in.

Both the duvet and pillow are filled with untreated organic kapok, with a spring of 100% organically certified cotton.

    The duvet measures 70x100 cm.

The pillow is a flat model and measures 40x45 cm.

Please note that kapok duvets feel different from ordinary down duvets. It is a little heavier and perhaps a little more like a cotton blanket.

Maintenance of your kapok duvet and pillow

Kapok is a natural fiber with quite unique properties.

And they are definitely worth taking good care of.

As a starting point, you should only wash your kapok duvet or pillow if it is strictly necessary.

If the stains are minor, we recommend spot wash.

If it is necessary to wash your kapok duvet or pillow, do it like this:

How to wash your kapok duvet or pillow
    • Wash preferably at 40 degrees to protect the fibre.
For example, Cocoon's soap berry or a delicate detergent with or without probiotics
    • Do not use fabric softener
    • Dry the kapok duvet or pillow immediately after washing

How to dry your kapok duvet or pillow
    • The kapok duvet or pillow is dried alone in the tumble dryer
    • Give yourself plenty of time. We recommend using dryer balls in wool to reduce drying time. They also ensure that the fibers are gently separated
    • Do not use tennis balls as they break the fiber
    • Choose a 30 minute program with medium heat. Look at the kapok pillow and repeat until it is slightly damp.
    • Let the kapok duvet or pillow dry in a warm place until the rest of the moisture is gone.
    • Be careful not to dry too long in the dryer, as this can reduce the life of the fiber.

Wood Cleaner with Probiotics - Deck & Teak Cleaner - 480 ml

    Byoms

    BYO-01115

At Ecofamily, we offer Byoms outdoor wood cleaner - an advanced cleaning solution for outdoor wooden surfaces. With its probiotic formula, this wood cleaner helps break down dirt naturally while maintaining a healthy microflora on the wood's surface.

    Deep-acting care and UV protection
This wood cleaner is more than just a superficial soap. It works deep within the grain, effectively removing the gray layer, grime, and dirt left behind by the elements. The added hemp seed oil prevents drying and protects against the sun's UV rays, which is essential for maintaining the wood's strength and flexibility.

WOOD Cleaner works as the perfect base cleaner before a subsequent oil treatment, leaving the surface receptive and clean.

    What are probiotics?
Probiotics mean "for life" and consist of living, good bacteria, which we also know from our own bodies. In cleaning, probiotics work by producing enzymes that actively break down organic materials such as grease, proteins, and dirt at a microscopic level.

While traditional cleaners stop working as soon as the surface is dry, the probiotic bacteria in Byoms WOOD Cleaner continue to work deep inside the wood's pores.

They maintain a healthy microbiological balance and inhibit unwanted growth, ensuring a cleaner surface for a longer period. It is a modern and natural approach to cleaning that works with nature rather than against it.

    Instructions for use

Outdoors (Garden furniture, decks, and railings)

    1. Remove loose leaves and debris.
    2. Wet the wood – it works best on a damp surface or after rain.
    3. Shake the bottle thoroughly.

    5. Distribute the mixture and let it sit for approx. 15 minutes.

    7. Rinse with clean water.

Excess water can be poured into the garden without concern, as the product contains only natural ingredients.

Kapok is a natural fiber that grows wild in the tropical rainforests.

It is produced sustainably and processed according to ecological standards.

The kapok fiber is insulating, temperature regulating and transports moisture away from the body - in the same way as wool.

These are really good properties in a sleeping environment. Especially for a small baby who may have difficulty regulating body temperature.

Kapok is recommended for allergy sufferers, as the fiber contains a natural antibacterial bitter substance that house dust mites cannot live in.

The Kapok mattress is hand-sewn and stuffed by hand, so please note that there may be slight differences in shape and dimensions.

    Maintenance of your kapok mattress

It is a good idea to give your kapok mattress a little air from time to time.

You do this by placing it on its side once in a while.

If you have a bed with a slab base without air flow, you must pay particular attention to airing your mattress.

Because the slab base will not be able to transport moisture and heat away from the mattress and in the worst case this can result in fungal spores at the bottom of your mattress.

The mattress is hand-stuffed with loose natural fiber, and therefore the mattress must be maintained once in a while as needed, where you put the mattress on its edge and massage/press the fiber from the edge towards the middle, where the mattress is most stressed during use. Otherwise, the mattress may form a hole where the kapok fiber is pressed the most.

Dryer balls in wool - 4 pcs

Dryer balls in wool - 4 pcs

    Cocoon Company

    WDB-002002

Why should you use wool dryer balls?

Wool dryer balls can reduce the drying time in a tumble dryer by 25%

They can do this because the wool absorbs the moisture from the clothes and ensures that the laundry is separated in the machine.

The dryer balls thus save both the environment and your personal finances by reducing your energy consumption for drying.

The wool balls do the laundry soft and delicious and makes fabric softener completely unnecessary.

The dryer balls are produced in Nepal.

Here they are part of a social economic project where local farmers supply wool and labor for a fair wage and good working conditions.

The wool is not certified organic, as it comes from free-ranging animals.

How are dryer balls used in wool?

Minimum place 4-6 dryer balls in the dryer together with your wet clothes, the dryer balls will do the job for you.

The dryer balls absorb moisture and distribute the clothes well in the dryer. This means that the clothes dry faster and that the machine therefore stops earlier (provided that you use a program that stops when the clothes are dry)

Be aware that the wool balls work best in a tumble dryer that is not completely full. The drying balls should have room to move in order to function optimally.

This package contains 4 wool balls. 2 of the balls are white - and are for light laundry and 2 balls are dark - you can use them for your dark clothes.

You can also just put all the balls in the dryer together:-)

The dryer balls will be damp (inside) after use, so please give them the opportunity to dry up before you pack them away.

The dryer balls can handle between 1000 and 1500 times in the tumble dryer, so they will last for many years :-)

Organic soap berries - 500 gr.

    Cocoon Company

    SOB-000500

500 gr. soap nuts from the Cocoon company.

1 cotton bag is included that you can use as washing bags for your soap nuts.

    What are soap nuts?

Soap nuts, or rather: soap berries, are a completely natural, organic and vegan detergent.

The soap nuts come from Inden, where they grow on big beautiful trees at the foot of The Himmalaya Mountains.

Washnuts are like berries with the nuts separated. So soapnuts are actually a misleading term, because only the berry is used for soap.

The soapnuts can be used for washing clothes, dishes, as shampoo, for shaving and for cleaning.

The soapnuts contain an organic substance called saponin. Saponin has an ability to dissolve and remove dirt.

Saponin is released on contact with water above 30 degrees and works like soap.

You therefore do not have to worry about whether the washing nuts release soap when the clothes are rinsed. Because the rinse water is cold and the washing nuts will therefore not release saponin into the cold water.

    How are washing nuts used?

The saponin in the soap bars is released when they dissolve in water above 30 degrees.

The soap bars are placed in the supplied laundry bag and put into the drum of the washing machine.

The number of soap berries that you should use depends a little on how dirty the laundry is and how much you wash at a time.

Here you should experiment a bit.

However, it is generally recommended to use 4-5 soap berries per load. wash.

If you live in an area with hard water, add calcifier if you live in an area with hard water.

    Add bleach for white laundry.

The soap carriers work at washing temperatures between 30 and 90 degrees. However, you can advantageously use a liquid detergent, extracted from soap berries, for very short washes.

Alternatively, you can soak the soap bars in warm water for a while before use.

The soap bars are very gentle and also work very well for wool and silk.

How long can the soap nuts be used?

The soap nuts can be used for approx. 5 washes - depending on the temperatures you wash at.

High temperatures will release more saponin from the soap bars than low temperatures.

When the soap bars become light and soft, they are exhausted.

Please put the used soap bars in the compost after use.

Beeswax table candles - hand dipped - 2 pcs

    BISTAD

    BIS-20220

Pure beeswax candles from Aarhusian BISTAD

Here you get 2 beautiful, natural table candles made from pure beeswax from Grøn Voks Pulje - i.e. wax that comes from bee farms where neither pesticides nor antibiotics are used.

These are some beautiful candles in all their simplicity and naturalness - and a much better light for the environment. Beeswax candles are a natural and chemical-free alternative to candles made of stearin and paraffin.

This product is handmade in Aarhus, among others. of vulnerable citizens. Minor variations may therefore occur in the individual products. It has no effect on the quality of the light.

BISTAD is a social economy company where there is always room for "the weird". We clearly support that at Økofamily.

The candles are approx. 25 cm. high and about 2 cm. in diameter, and comes from beeswax collected from local beehives distributed over central Jutland - beeswax from Grøn Voks Pulje.

They have a burning time of around 8 hours.

When you buy these beeswax candles, you make an important difference:

    • for vulnerable citizens
    • for the honey bee
    • for your indoor climate
    • for nature
    • for CO2 released
    • for yourself and your loved ones

How to use your beeswax candle correctly and safely

    • Continuously cut the wick down - this way the light burns best and slowly, and you avoid the light getting sooty.
    • At the same time, you must avoid drafts in the room where the light is stands.
    • The wick should burn up by itself, but if a small piece falls off and lands in the light, it reduces the quality of the firewood.

Stasher in the oven: Place your open bag on a baking tray and put it in the oven. We recommend heating at a maximum of 210 degrees. And leave the bag slightly open so that the steam can escape.Stasher in the microwave: Leave the bag open here too when you heat food in the microwave. If you are going to make popcorn, we recommend a Stasher Stand-up. It gives a little more space to pop.Stasher in Sous vide pot: Put the food in the bag and slowly lower it into the water. The heat causes the air to seep out of the bag and will create a vacuum around the food. Close the bag and make sure it is completely closed when it is in the water. They are brilliant for leftovers from dinner or for wet food such as fruit or meat. Tips for Stasher Bags

Write on your Stasher Bag with a whiteboard pen. It comes off easily in the wash

Your Stasher Bag may be discolored by certain foods (tomato and the like). A little smell can also be transferred if you have used your stasher bag for strong foods. Both parts can be remedied with a little baking soda and lemon.

If they get a little discolored over time, you can use vinegar and baking soda to remove them, and if that doesn't work, we have another tip up our sleeve as well.

If you have Stasher bags in Clear or lighter versions, the best way to remove discoloration is to actually let the sun do the work. If you leave your bags out in the sun for a few hours or 3, the UV rays will work to remove the discolouration.

Of course, it requires that it is up in the sky.

You can also remove food smells by putting your stasher bags in the oven at 175 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
Make sure they cool down again before handling them.

You can also soak them in hot water with a little vinegar and salt for an hour. It can also help.

And then the best tip is probably just to use it again and again and again :-)

    Cleaning your Stasher Bag

Please put your Stasher bag in the dishwasher. It can easily withstand that.

Otherwise you can clean it by hand washing.

Stasher Bags are produced in China under proper conditions.

    Pandoo

    PAN-27047

Pandoo air purifying pads with bamboo charcoal

Here you have a small and effective, reusable house helper against both moisture and bad smells.

Pandoo's air purifying pads contain active bamboo charcoal, which effectively and naturally cleans the air and absorbs moisture in your home.

In this package you get 2 pcs. Pandoo bamboo charcoal air purifiers, each containing 200 g. activated bamboo carbon.

You can use the bamboo deodorizers in the kitchen, in the bathroom, in the wardrobe, in the office, in the sports bag, in your shoes and in the dog basket.

The air cleaner pads are square and have a metal ring mounted on them, so they can be hung on e.g. a hanger or a hook.

The air purifying pads are delivered in a box made of recyclable cardboard.

How to use your Pandoo bamboo air purifiers

    • Place one or more pads in the rooms where you want to clean the air.
    • When the pads have absorbed a lot of moisture, you just put them in a warm place to dry out the carbon.
    • In the summer you can put them out and dry, directly in the sun, and then they work again.
    • It is actually a really good idea to make it a habit to reactivate the pads by putting them out in the sunlight for a few hours every four weeks.
    • The sun's UV rays will clean the pores in the activated carbon and the air freshener is fully activated again and ready to use.

The pads have a lifespan of at least 2 years and after that they are biodegradable but remember to cut off the top with the metal ring before throwing the pads into the compost. You can see the production date on the back of the box. It can, for example, be PO2010 which corresponds to 'October 2020', i.e. year first and month last. From the time of production, the shelf life is 4 years, which means that the product in the example can actually last until October 2024.

    What is bamboo charcoal?

Bamboo charcoal is a 100% natural material. It consists in its simplicity of burnt bamboo. The specially made charcoal is not the same as regular charcoal.

When activated bamboo charcoal is made, the bamboo is burned under very high temperatures. The oxygen is removed and the carbon is activated with the help of steam gases.

The activated carbon has an incredibly good absorbent capacity, i.a. because it is full of small holes that capture and bind the substances that can be found in e.g. liquid.

One gram of activated carbon can have a surface area of ??500-3000 m2, and it is precisely this large surface area that makes activated carbon so fantastically effective.
