What is a Stasher Bag?

How to use your Stasher Bag

As you have probably already discovered, you can Stasher Bags are used for a great deal. Here are some tips for use in the oven, microwave, sous vide pot and freezer.

Stasher in the oven: Place your open bag on a baking tray and put it in the oven. We recommend heating at a maximum of 210 degrees. And leave the bag slightly open so that the steam can escape.Stasher in the microwave: Leave the bag open here too when you heat food in the microwave. If you are going to make popcorn, we recommend a Stasher Stand-up. It gives a little more space to pop.Stasher in Sous vide pot: Put the food in the bag and slowly lower it into the water. The heat causes the air to seep out of the bag and will create a vacuum around the food. Close the bag and make sure it is completely closed when it is in the water. Prepare as you normally would, but now completely without plastic.Stasher in the freezer: Use Stasher Bags to freeze your food. They are brilliant for leftovers from dinner or for wet food such as fruit or meat. Stasher Bags do not take up much space in the freezer and since they are transparent, they provide a good overview.

Tips for Stasher Bags

Your Stasher Bag may be discolored by certain foods (tomato and the like). A little smell can also be transferred if you have used your stasher bag for strong foods. Both parts can be remedied with a little baking soda and lemon.

If they get a little discolored over time, you can use vinegar and baking soda to remove them, and if that doesn't work, we have another tip up our sleeve as well.

If you have Stasher bags in Clear or lighter versions, the best way to remove discoloration is to actually let the sun do the work. If you leave your bags out in the sun for a few hours or 3, the UV rays will work to remove the discolouration.

Of course, that requires it to be out in the sky.

You can also remove food smells by putting your stasher bags in the oven at 175 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
Make sure they cool down again before handling them.

You can also soak them in hot water with a little vinegar and salt for an hour. It can also help.

And then the best tip is probably just to use it again and again and again :-)

Cleaning your Stasher Bag

Please put your Stasher bag in the dishwasher. It can easily withstand that.

Otherwise you can clean it by hand washing.

How to use essential oil for your laundry

Soapi soap magnet - an award-winning product

Soapi the soap holder can be easily attached to any smooth, clean surface in your bathroom or kitchen using its included adhesive pad. The strong neodymium magnet can easily hold any solid bar of soap or shampoo. You simply take a regular capsule from a bottle and squeeze it halfway into your soap. Then rinse both parts briefly under water so that the bottle cap sticks better to the soap. Let it dry and you're good to go. You can then hang the soap on the soap container. In this way, you save both plastic packaging and reduce your waste.

When beeswax is used in cosmetics, it is primarily used to regulate consistency. Beeswax does not penetrate the skin but forms a protective barrier on top. Therefore, beeswax is particularly useful for lip balm and salves.

Although you most likely use chemical-free cleaning agents, it can be hard on your hands to be in water for a long time, and sometimes you also have to use slightly harsher agents to get rid of the worst dirt

- therefore it is a good idea to have a pair of latex gloves to protect the skin on your hands. We have found a version that we at Økofamily can vouch for.

The gloves here are made in Europe by French La droguerie écologique; a brand that strikes a blow for both gentle production and clean materials and local, European workplaces. So we really like that! They are thus a good alternative to traditional rubber gloves and plastic gloves.

These cleaning gloves are made of rubber from FSC certified plantations.

The latex gloves can be used for washing dishes, various household tasks, gardening etc.

There is one pair in the box in size M and in the color green.

The gloves come in a reusable cardboard packaging.

Using latex gloves

Always rinse the cleaning gloves with water after use. (Be careful and remember to pay some attention to the environment if you have used chemical products.)

• After use, clean your beeswax cloth gently with alcohol-free soap in cool water with a soft cloth or sponge.
• The cloth is patted dry with a tea towel without wringing.
• And then it's ready to use again.

• Do not soak your beeswax paper.
• Beeswax cloths should not be used for fresh, unprocessed meat.

How to make your own beeswax paper

You can either make your own beeswax paper from scratch with a thin and light cotton fabric, or you can renew your worn beeswax cloths if the wax is wearing off.

They are made of food-grade stainless steel.

The lids are made of food-grade silicone and they hold tightly so that the liquid content stays inside. This means that you can put them in the freezer where there is now space. They do not have to stand up.

In addition, they are easy to open and close. When they are not in use, they can be stacked inside each other, so that they take up as little space as possible in the kitchen drawer.

Glass is the cleanest material in which you can store your food.

And then it is extremely practical, as you can see through it and thus quickly get an overview of your fridge or freezer and thus avoid food waste.

If you want to avoid harmful chemicals in your food, then glass for storage is the absolute best choice.

And it is also quite practical that the food can both frozen in the bowl - and heated in it when you are ready.

The plastic lids are food approved and made of BPA-free plastic, but if you use the bowls optimally, the lids will not come into contact with your food at all. However, they are quite important for the tightness of the glass buckets.

Do not bring the lids into the oven if you use them for heating in there.

About bokashi bran

Bokashi Bran, also sometimes called compost yeast, is a mixture of molasses (sugar and water) and natural, beneficial microorganisms (lactic acid bacteria, yeasts, photosynthetic organisms, actinomycetes and enzyme-active fungi) which initiate the fermentation process and prevent decay in Bokashi the composter.

Bee's Wrap is a fantastic product for organic and natural food storage. Bee's Wrap is a super natural alternative to cling film, aluminum foil and freezer bags. As a general rule, you should only wash your kapok duvet or pillow if it is strictly necessary.

If the stains are minor, we recommend spot washing.

If it is necessary to wash your kapok duvet or pillow, do it like this:

However, be aware that this duvet is large and therefore cannot be put in all washing machines.

• Wash at 40 degrees to protect the fibre. However, 60 degrees is possible if necessary.
• Choose a short washing program, as the kapok cannot stand being wet for too long
• Choose centrifugation at 1200 revolutions to get as much water as possible out of the kapok
• Use a gentle detergent without enzymes or bleach. For example, Cocoon's soap berry or a delicate detergent with or without probiotics
• Do not use fabric softener
• Dry the kapok duvet or pillow immediately after washing

• The kapok duvet or pillow is dried alone in the tumble dryer
• Give yourself plenty of time. We recommend using dryer balls in wool to reduce drying time. They also ensure that the fibers are gently separated
• Do not use tennis balls as they break the fiber
• Choose a 30 minute program with medium heat. Look at the kapok pillow and repeat until it is slightly damp.
• Let the kapok duvet or pillow dry in a warm place until the rest of the moisture is gone.
• Be careful not to dry too long in the dryer, as this can reduce the life of the fiber.

How to use your beeswax candle correctly and safely

They can do this because the wool absorbs the moisture from the clothes and ensures that the laundry is separated in the machine.

The wool balls do the laundry soft and delicious and makes fabric softener completely unnecessary.

The dryer balls are produced in Nepal.

Here they are part of a social economic project where local farmers supply wool and labor for a fair wage and good working conditions.

The wool is not certified organic, as it comes from free-ranging animals.

How are dryer balls used in wool?

The dryer balls absorb moisture and distribute the clothes well in the dryer. This means that the clothes dry faster and that the machine therefore stops earlier (provided that you use a program that stops when the clothes are dry)

Be aware that the wool balls work best in a tumble dryer that is not completely full. The dryer balls should have room to move in order to function optimally.

The dryer balls will be damp (inside) after use, so please give them the opportunity to dry up before you pack them away.
