About bokashi bran

Bokashi Bran, also sometimes called compost yeast, is a mixture of molasses (sugar and water) and natural, beneficial microorganisms (lactic acid bacteria, yeasts, photosynthetic organisms, actinomycetes and enzyme-active fungi) which initiate the fermentation process and prevent decay in Bokashi the composter.

Once the fermentation process is complete, the organic waste retains all essential nutrients (especially nitrogen) that would otherwise be lost through decay. As a result, the fermented organic waste is an excellent base for first-class compost.

Cleaning and use:
The snack box is dishwasher safe and easy to keep clean – however, we recommend placing it in the top rack and using the gentle cycle. The lid has a removable silicone seal, which makes it easy to clean thoroughly. To extend its life and preserve any patterns, we recommend hand washing the lid. Avoid storing strongly coloured foods such as curry, turmeric and tomato purée for long periods of time, as this may cause staining.

Usage

Colorful home textiles – made from surplus materials from industry

When factories dye yarn for textile production, an extra stock is often made just in case – but much of this yarn ends up unused. Odds & Ends textiles are designed to make full use of these scraps and create endless, unexpected color combinations.

Collections & Colors

Odds & Ends collections are produced in batches. The factory collects surplus materials and uses these colors to create a new design, which is then put into production. The precise design is just the starting point – during production, some of the residual materials are used up and replaced with similar colors.

Therefore, the images you see are an indicative representation of how the textiles look, but there will be slight variations within each batch.

Colours may vary

As these textiles are produced in small batches from surplus materials, colors may vary. However, the general color palette is always preserved, so that textiles within the same color scale can be easily combined. The product you receive may be identical to or have slight variations compared to the images on this page. The duo set consists of one textile in primarily cold tones and one in primarily warm tones.

Washing and care instructions

All Odds & Ends textiles can be washed at 30°C in the washing machine's cotton program together with similar colours. To preserve the intensity of the colors, an organic detergent is recommended for colored washing.

To extend the life of the textiles, air drying is recommended, but terrycloth products such as soft towels – especially those with a velor surface – may benefit from an occasional tumble dryer on medium heat to soften the fibers without the use of chemical fabric softeners.

If you live in an area with chalky water, you can soften both your textiles and washing machine by adding citric acid or vinegar to the rinse cycle from time to time.

Loose Threads

This product is woven with terry loops to ensure a soft and absorbent quality. Newly woven terry loops can be more prone to loose threads, so be careful with jewelry when first worn.

If a thread should come loose, never pull it! Carefully cut it off with sharp scissors – this will prevent further loose threads and will not affect the woven structure of the textiles. After the first few washes, the fibers will become more resistant to snags.

Bee's Wrap is practical and completely natural food storage. Bee's Wrap makes cling film and freezer bags unnecessary in the kitchen - and also aluminum foil in many cases. Because Bee's Wrap can actually do the same. It can keep your food fresh - in a natural way. Good for you and good for the environment.

Bee's Wrap consists of a piece of GOTS certified organic cotton with beeswax and Jojoba oil.

The wrap is warmed with the hands and placed as a lid for a bowl, pie tin or something else. Alternatively, you can use a wrap to wrap a cheese, bread or an avocado in. The possibilities are many.

Clean Bee's Wrap under the cold/lukewarm tap, dry and use again.

If you have Stasher bags in Clear or lighter versions, the best way to remove discoloration is to actually let the sun do the work. If you leave your bags out in the sun for a few hours or 3, the UV rays will work to remove the discolouration.

Of course, that requires it to be out in the sky.

You can also remove food smells by putting your stasher bags in the oven at 175 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
Make sure they cool down again before handling them.

You can also soak them in hot water with a little vinegar and salt for an hour. It can also help.

Knives in bamboo

These natural knives are a fine, strong and good natural alternative to disposable cutlery and plastic cutlery.

They are great to have on the go and also great for the children's packed lunches. And the best of all is that you don't have to throw them away after use.

The knives are made of natural bamboo, which grows extremely fast - without having to use a lot of water for it.

Bamboo doesn't need any fertilizers or pesticides to grow as strongly as it does, which also makes it a super material.

Bamboo can be harvested several times a year and absorbs large amounts of Co2 during its lifetime. And it is both stronger and lighter than wood.

The bamboo knife is reusable and 100% biodegradable.

Washing and maintenance of your bamboo knife

The knife is dishwasher safe but will fade over time as it is a 100% natural material.

However, we recommend washing it by hand with a little mild detergent if you want to take extra good care of it and have it as long as possible.

The bamboo knife also benefits from a little oil in between. There you just use what you have in the kitchen drawers. Olive oil, rapeseed oil or similar.

Conscious washing-up liquid with Aloe Vera

This organic washing-up liquid without fragrance effectively dissolves grease and dirt and gives a streak-free shine.

It has a high content of Aloe Vera and has a very skin-friendly PH value and a nurturing effect - it is therefore very mild against hands.

This conscious dishwashing detergent is made from renewable raw materials.

It is vegan and without palm oil preservatives and petrochemicals.

How to use Ulrich Natürlich's dishwashing liquid

For very stubborn dirt, you can use the detergent undiluted, directly on the surface and wipe with a damp cloth afterwards.

Keep your universal cleaner out of the reach of children and not in direct sunlight.
