Beeswax wrap is a natural and reusable alternative to aluminium foil, cling film, greaseproof paper and freezer bags.

These sustainable cotton wraps are made of 100% organic, GOTS certified cotton, treated with a blend of beeswax and jojoba oil.

Beeswax food wrapping

With Haps Nordic's beeswax wraps, you can easily and naturally wrap your food instead of using single-use packaging like cling film, freezer bags, and greaseproof paper.

You can use them for everything from bread and fruit to covering a bowl in the fridge or for your sandwich in the packed lunch as a kind of reusable greaseproof paper.

They can be used for almost all types of food, but due to the risk of bacteria development, you should not use beeswax wrap for fresh, unprocessed meat.

If you take good care of your beeswax cloths, they last up to a year or even longer. But you can always renew them with a fresh coat of wax. You can find a link to homemade beeswax wrap at the bottom of this page.

How to use beeswax wrap

• Fold the beeswax cloth around the food or bowl.
• The warmth of your hands softens the material, allowing it to wrap easily around the food.
• The reusable wrap stiffens again when cooled, thus fitting snugly.
• After use, gently clean your beeswax wrap with alcohol-free soap in cool water using a soft cloth or sponge.
• Pat dry with a tea towel without wringing.
• And it's ready to use again.

• Do not soak your beeswax wrap.
• Beeswax cloths should not be used for fresh, unprocessed meat.

Make your own beeswax wrap

You can either make your own beeswax cloths from scratch with a piece of thin, lightweight cotton fabric, or you can renew your worn beeswax cloths if the wax is wearing off.

Wooden nutcracker

Maintenance of your wooden nutcracker

It cannot be washed in a dishwasher or soaked. Not even if it just sits in a little bit of water.

So make sure to dry it as soon as possible.

Feel free to give your nutcracker cooking oil on a regular basis. then it stays nice and shiny and makes it more resistant to water etc.

Steam insert in stainless steel

When vegetables are raw, they are in a form where you cannot easily access all the nutrients. When the vegetables are cooked, their cell walls are broken down. In this way, the nutrients are released so that the body can absorb them more easily.

However, this does not mean that you should just throw your vegetables into a pot of boiling water and let them cook half way through. Because when you cook them that way, a lot of good nutrients escape from the vegetables and into the water. Therefore, you can advantageously steam your vegetables instead. It preserves both taste and nutrition in the vegetables.

Cooking time depends on which vegetables are steamed and their size. So keep an eye on them.
