When factories dye yarn for textile production, they often create an extra stash just in case – but much of this yarn ends up unused. Odds & Ends textiles are designed to fully utilize these remainders, creating endless, unexpected color combinations.

Collections & Colors
Odds & Ends collections are produced in batches. The factory gathers surplus materials and uses these colors to create a new design, which is then put into production. The precise design is just a starting point – during production, some of the remaining materials are used up and replaced with similar colors.

Therefore, the images you see are a guiding representation of what the textiles look like, but there will be slight variations within each batch.

However, the general color palette is always maintained, so textiles within the same color scale can easily be combined. The product you receive may be identical to or have slight variations compared to the images on this page. The duo set consists of one textile in primarily cool tones and one in primarily warm tones.

Washing and care instructions
All Odds & Ends textiles can be washed at 30°C on the washing machine's cotton program with similar colors. To preserve the intensity of the colors, an organic detergent for colored laundry is recommended.

To prolong the life of the textiles, line drying is recommended, but terry products such as soft towels – especially those with a velour finish – can benefit from occasional tumble drying at medium heat to soften the fibers without the use of chemical fabric softeners.

If you live in an area with hard water, you can soften both your textiles and your washing machine by adding citric acid or vinegar to the rinse cycle from time to time.

Loose threads
This product is woven with terry loops to ensure a soft and absorbent quality. Newly woven terry loops can be more prone to loose threads, so please be careful with jewelry during the first few uses.

If a thread should come loose, never pull it! Carefully cut it off with sharp scissors – this will prevent further loose threads and does not affect the woven structure of the textiles. After the first few washes, the fibers will become more resistant to snags.

Good to know about tea cosies
A good tea cosy does more than just hold heat. By insulating the pot, you ensure that the tea leaves (if still in the pot) or the extracted oils maintain the optimal temperature. This prevents the tea from becoming "flat" in taste due to rapid cooling.
Tip: Make sure the tea cosy sits flush against the table, as heat can otherwise escape from the bottom. This model is specifically designed to stand firm and heavy, which maximises its insulating capabilities.

Advantages of flax

Flax can be grown without the use of artificial irrigation and pesticides and it is also biological degradable.

Heat gives a far greater yield per hectares than e.g. cotton and the whole plant can be used for various purposes.

Flax is also naturally antiseptic. This means that neither microbes, bacteria nor fungi can live in the material. It is also resistant to moths and carpet beetles.

Hear fibers are very long, and therefore the textile is almost indestructible. It has a smooth and lint-free surface and will become more beautiful and softer and more delicious after each wash.

How to use a linen coffee filter

Boil the coffee filter before using it for the first time. And then boil it at regular intervals to remove accumulated coffee oils.

But otherwise, you can simply rinse the filter thoroughly after use, when it has been emptied of dirt, and then let it dry through.

The filter can also be washed in a washing machine at 60 degrees. Avoid using soap.

Do not tumble dry.

Tip: Also use your coffee grounds, e.g. as fertilizer in the garden. It is fantastically suitable for e.g. Hydrangea, Azalea, Rhodendendron, Camellia, roses and similar acid soil plants.

Important Allergy Information
Although resin is natural, it is a potent substance (Colophony). It should be used with caution, especially if you have sensitive skin. We always recommend performing a "patch test" on a small area of skin before using your homemade product on your entire body.

The resin is dried and then crushed into small pieces up to 2 mm.

What is a Stasher Bag?

A Stasher Bag is a reusable and completely sealed silicone bag for storing your food, your toiletries and the like.

How to use your Stasher Bag

As you have probably already discovered, you can Stasher Bags are used for a great deal. Here are some tips for use in the oven, microwave, sous vide pot and freezer.

Stasher in the oven: Place your open bag on a baking tray and put it in the oven. We recommend heating at a maximum of 210 degrees. And leave the bag slightly open so that the steam can escape.Stasher in the microwave: Leave the bag open here too when you heat food in the microwave. If you are going to make popcorn, we recommend a Stasher Stand-up. It gives a little more space to pop.Stasher in Sous vide pot: Put the food in the bag and slowly lower it into the water. The heat causes the air to seep out of the bag and will create a vacuum around the food. Close the bag and make sure it is completely closed when it is in the water. Prepare as you normally would, but now completely without plastic.Stasher in the freezer: Use Stasher Bags to freeze your food. They are brilliant for leftovers from dinner or for wet food such as fruit or meat. Stasher Bags do not take up much space in the freezer and since they are transparent, they provide a good overview.

Tips for Stasher Bags

Your Stasher Bag may be discolored by certain foods (tomato and the like). A little smell can also be transferred if you have used your stasher bag for strong foods. Both parts can be remedied with a little baking soda and lemon.

If they get a little discolored over time, you can use vinegar and baking soda to remove them, and if that doesn't work, we have another tip up our sleeve as well.

If you have Stasher bags in Clear or lighter versions, the best way to remove discoloration is to actually let the sun do the work. If you leave your bags out in the sun for a few hours or 3, the UV rays will work to remove the discolouration.

Of course, that requires it to be out in the sky.

You can also remove food smells by putting your stasher bags in the oven at 175 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
Make sure they cool down again before handling them.

You can also soak them in hot water with a little vinegar and salt for an hour. It can also help.

And then the best tip is probably just to use it again and again and again :-)

Cleaning your Stasher Bag

Please put your Stasher bag in the dishwasher. It can easily withstand that.

Otherwise you can clean it by hand washing.

Washing and maintenance of your bamboo knife

The knife is dishwasher safe but will fade over time as it is a 100% natural material.

However, we recommend washing it by hand with a little mild detergent if you want to take extra good care of it and have it as long as possible.

The bamboo knife also benefits from a little oil in between. There you just use what you have in the kitchen drawers. Olive oil, rapeseed oil or similar.

Conscious washing-up liquid with Aloe Vera

This organic washing-up liquid without fragrance effectively dissolves grease and dirt and gives a streak-free shine.

It has a high content of Aloe Vera and has a very skin-friendly PH value and a nurturing effect - it is therefore very mild against hands.

This conscious dishwashing detergent is made from renewable raw materials.

It is vegan and without palm oil preservatives and petrochemicals.

How to use your Bokashi Compost bin

It takes soil to make bokashi compost. It can be from a garden or from pots and raised beds. Bokashi must be mixed with soil to become compost.

• You first sprinkle compost yeast into your empty Bokashibucket, fill your food waste on top, sprinkle again and press the stamp down.
• Then you sprinkle compost yeast on top after each time you fill in (preferably only 1-2 times daily).
• The plunger creates a vacuum inside the bucket when you push it down onto the bucket.
• When you pull it up to add more food scraps, pull the handle, which releases the vacuum so the plate can be lifted out.
• When the bucket is full, the contents must be fully fermented for 2 weeks before emptying.
• When you empty the bucket, you can fold the round plunger, so it forms a semicircle and use it to scrape the bucket clean of food residues.
• Afterwards you can wash the individual parts in the dishwasher.
• The contents you empty out must be mixed with other soil to become compost. (Some make a small "soil factory" on the balcony or somewhere else).
• The drained liquid, which must be drained from the bottom of the bucket, can be used as fertilizer immediately if it is diluted 1:100.

How to Clean Your Reusable Coffee Capsule

After brewing coffee, you can empty the capsule of coffee beans using the back of a teaspoon. Place the coffee beans in your compost bin, use them as a scrub, or discard them with other waste.

Once the capsule is emptied, you can simply rinse it under the tap. You might want to use this bottle brush for the purpose.

This is sufficient for daily cleaning.

If it needs further cleaning, it can also easily be put in the dishwasher.
