Colorful home textiles – made from industrial surplus materials

When factories dye yarn for textile production, they often create an extra stash just in case – but much of this yarn ends up unused. Odds & Ends textiles are designed to fully utilize these remainders, creating endless, unexpected color combinations.

Collections & Colors
Odds & Ends collections are produced in batches. The factory gathers surplus materials and uses these colors to create a new design, which is then put into production. The precise design is just a starting point – during production, some of the remaining materials are used up and replaced with similar colors.

Therefore, the images you see are a guiding representation of what the textiles look like, but there will be slight variations within each batch.

Colors may vary
Since these textiles are produced in small batches from surplus materials, colors may vary. However, the general color palette is always maintained, so textiles within the same color scale can easily be combined. The product you receive may be identical to or have slight variations compared to the images on this page. The duo set consists of one textile in primarily cool tones and one in primarily warm tones.

Washing and care instructions
All Odds & Ends textiles can be washed at 30°C on the washing machine's cotton program with similar colors. To preserve the intensity of the colors, an organic detergent for colored laundry is recommended.

To prolong the life of the textiles, line drying is recommended, but terry products such as soft towels – especially those with a velour finish – can benefit from occasional tumble drying at medium heat to soften the fibers without the use of chemical fabric softeners.

If you live in an area with hard water, you can soften both your textiles and your washing machine by adding citric acid or vinegar to the rinse cycle from time to time.

Loose threads
This product is woven with terry loops to ensure a soft and absorbent quality. Newly woven terry loops can be more prone to loose threads, so please be careful with jewelry during the first few uses.

If a thread should come loose, never pull it! Carefully cut it off with sharp scissors – this will prevent further loose threads and does not affect the woven structure of the textiles. After the first few washes, the fibers will become more resistant to snags.

How to use:

1. Remove surface dirt from the stain.
2. Shake the pen

Kapok is an insulating and temperature-regulating natural material that grows wild in tropical rainforests.

Kapok is recommended for allergy sufferers, as the natural fiber contains a natural antibacterial substance that house dust mites cannot live in.

Kapok mattresses are free of mold shelf, flame retardants and fluorine substances that most other mattresses unfortunately often contain. And since the mattress cannot be washed before use, an organic alternative is really worth a lot.

Maintenance of your kapok mattress

You do this by placing it on its side once in a while between.

Bee's Wrap is a fantastic product for organic and natural food storage. Bee's Wrap is a super natural alternative to cling film, aluminum foil and freezer bags. Because Bee's Wrap can in many ways do the same as plastic - keep your food fresh - but in a natural way. Good for health and good for the environment.

Bee's Wrap consists of a piece of GOTS certified organic cotton with beeswax and jojoba oil.

It is warmed with the hands and placed as a lid on a bowl, pie tin or something else. Alternatively, you can use Bee's Wrap to wrap a piece of cheese, bread or an apple in it. The possibilities are endless.

Clean Bee's Wrap under the cold or lukewarm tap, dry and use again.

However, do not use Bee's Wrap for meat, as they can only be cleaned in cold/lukewarm water.

Kapok is also called silk cotton. It is light and breathable and transports moisture away from the body. The temperature regulating effect makes it suitable for both summer and winter. Kapok is also recommended for allergy sufferers, as kapok contains an antibacterial bitter substance that house dust mites cannot live in.

Be aware that kapok duvets can feel a little different from ordinary down duvets. It is a little heavier and perhaps a little more like a cotton blanket.

Maintenance of your kapok duvet and pillow

And they are definitely worth taking good care of.

As a general rule, you should only wash your kapok duvet or pillow if it is strictly necessary.

If the stains are minor, we recommend spot washing.

If it is necessary to wash your kapok duvet or pillow, do it like this:

However, be aware that this duvet is large and therefore cannot be put in all washing machines.

• Wash at 40 degrees to protect the fibre. However, 60 degrees is possible if necessary.
• Choose a short washing program, as the kapok cannot stand being wet for too long
• Choose centrifugation at 1200 revolutions to get as much water as possible out of the kapok
• Use a gentle detergent without enzymes or bleach. For example, Cocoon's soap berry or a delicate detergent with or without probiotics
• Do not use fabric softener
• Dry the kapok duvet or pillow immediately after washing

• The kapok duvet or pillow is dried alone in the tumble dryer
• Give yourself plenty of time. We recommend using dryer balls in wool to reduce drying time. They also ensure that the fibers are gently separated
• Do not use tennis balls as they break the fiber
• Choose a 30 minute program with medium heat. Look at the kapok pillow and repeat until it is slightly damp.
• Let the kapok duvet or pillow dry in a warm place until the rest of the moisture is gone.
• Be careful not to dry too long in the dryer, as this can reduce the life of the fiber.

Glass bowl with lid

Glass is the cleanest material in which you can store your food.

It is free of hormone-disrupting substances and other chemicals that can seep into your food.

And it is extremely practical, as you can both freeze your food in it and reheat it in the microwave - without moving the food.

However, the food must thaw before you heat it, as the bowl cannot withstand excessively large temperature differences.

How to use your beeswax candle correctly and safely

• Continuously cut the wick down - this way the candle burns best and slowly, and you avoid the candle becoming sooty.
• At the same time, you must avoid drafts in the room, where the light is.
• The wick should burn up by itself, but if a small piece falls off and lands in the light, it reduces the quality of the fire.

Also, pay attention to the fire authorities' instructions for burning candles:

• Never leave a lighted candles.
• Always place lit candles so that children and animals cannot knock them over.
• Always supervise candles.
• Always turn off candles when you go to bed or leave the home.
• Calves must be placed well away from fluttering curtains.
• Never have candles in children's rooms.

Cloth napkins in organic cotton

Soft and delicious cloth napkins in organic cotton from Imse Vimse.

This sanitary pad is black and is a night pad.

The black color is quite practical in relation to any stains that you can hardly avoid over time.

Also feel free to use the night pads after giving birth.

A cloth pad is a great way to save the environment from unnecessary disposable plastic and at the same time do something really good for yourself.

Because a cloth pad is just extremely comfortable. to wear.

The cloth pad allows your skin to breathe and feels much fresher and more natural against the skin than the disposable version.

The cloth pad measures 33 x 8.5 cm.

This cloth pad is made up of 5 absorbent layers of organic cotton as well as a layer of PUL, which makes it leak-proof.

The cloth pad has wings and closes with a snap button. Here there are two different setting options.

The cloth napkins are OEKO-TEX certified. It is not a 100% guarantee for a chemical-free product, so please wash them a few times before use just to be safe.
The fabric may fluff a little at first, but these are just loose fibers that disappear in the wash. However, they can be removed with a scraper if they do not.

Washing cloth pads

Wash your cloth pads a few times before use.

When using:

Rinse your cloth pads in cold water before washing them - possibly added a little salt.

You can also choose a cold rinse in the machine.

Then wash your cloth napkins at 60-90 degrees in the washing machine.

Preferably avoid a tumble dryer, as it wears down the PUL layer a lot.

If you have enough napkins, you can wash them all at the same time.

2 packets mini, 4 packets normal and 2 packets night are often enough for a period.

Wet bag from Imse Vimse

Medium wet from Swedish Imse Vimse.

The wet bag is in black and measures 28x26cm.

Use it for your used sanitary pads, for cotton pads or cloths either at home or when you are on the go.

The wet bag is made of PUL, which is a waterproof material without PVC, BPA, lead and fluorine substances.

Washing your wet bag

The bag can be washed in a washing machine at 60 degrees.

Avoid using a tumble dryer, as it wears down the waterproof coating a lot.

Why should you use wool dryer balls?

They can do this because the wool absorbs the moisture from the clothes and ensures that the laundry is separated in the machine.

The dryer balls thus save both the environment and your personal finances by reducing your energy consumption for drying.

The wool balls do the laundry soft and delicious and makes fabric softener completely unnecessary.

The dryer balls are produced in Nepal.

Here they are part of a social economic project where local farmers supply wool and labor for a fair wage and good working conditions.

The wool is not certified organic, as it comes from free-ranging animals.

How are dryer balls used in wool?

The dryer balls absorb moisture and distribute the clothes well in the dryer. This means that the clothes dry faster and that the machine therefore stops earlier (provided that you use a program that stops when the clothes are dry)

Be aware that the wool balls work best in a tumble dryer that is not completely full. The dryer balls should have room to move in order to function optimally.

The dryer balls will be damp (inside) after use, so please give them the opportunity to dry up before you pack them away.

This package contains 6 wool balls. 3 of the balls are white - and are for light laundry and 3 balls are dark - you can use them for your dark clothes.

You can also just put all the balls in the dryer together:-)

The dryer balls can handle between 1000 and 1500 times in the dryer, so they will last for many years:-)

How to use your AYA&IDA Food'ie

When the food box is used for hot food, it is important to heat the food completely so that it is scalding hot - and preferably to the boiling point, before you fill the food in the thermo food box. This also reduces the bacteria in the food.

The colder the food is, the faster it will lose heat.

However, it can clump together a little and if that happens, we have good experience of giving the pillow a trip in the dryer on medium heat for approx. half an hour together with dryer balls (preferably wool) as this will loosen the fibers again.

If the stains are smaller, we recommend spot wash.

But if it is necessary to wash your kapok pillow, you do it like this:

• Wash preferably at 40 degrees to protect the fiber. However, 60 degrees is possible if necessary.
• Choose a short washing program, as the kapok cannot stand being wet for too long

What is bamboo charcoal?

Bamboo charcoal is a 100% natural material. It consists in its simplicity of burnt bamboo. The specially made charcoal is not the same as regular charcoal.

When activated bamboo charcoal is made, the bamboo is burned under very high temperatures. The oxygen is removed and the carbon is activated with the help of steam gases.
