Kapok

Kapok duvet - 200x220 cm

Cocoon Company

DUV-200220

Kapok double duvet from Cocoon Company

Organic double duvet with extra length in soft and temperature-regulating kapok.

Kapok - also called silk cotton because its ultra-soft fibers. Kapok is a light and breathable material that transports moisture away from the body. The temperature-regulating effect makes it suitable all year round. The duvet is very suitable if you find it difficult to keep warm at night - or find it difficult to get rid of the heat. And under this model, two people can sleep.

Kapok is also recommended for allergy sufferers, as the kapok fiber contains an antibacterial substance that house dust mites cannot live in. However, house dust mites can live on the outside of the cotton, which is why it is recommended to tumble dry the duvet for approx. every 2 months.

The double duvet is filled with untreated organic kapok, with a spring of 100% organically certified cotton.

The duvet measures 200x220 cm.

Please note that kapok duvets feel different from ordinary down duvets. It is a little heavier and resembles a cotton blanket at first. Primarily because the fiber collapses over time, so it's stopped well so it doesn't become too flat when used.

Give the duvet a few trips in the dryer and use it well - it will be soft and lovely.

Maintenance of your kapok duvet

Kapok is a natural fiber with quite unique properties.

And they are definitely worth taking good care of. on.

As a starting point, you should only wash your kapok duvet if it is strictly necessary.
The kapok fibers can be damaged by washing and clump together, so we do not recommend washing, unless the duvet cannot be used without it.
For normal use, it is sufficient to simply air the duvet.

If the stains are smaller, we recommend washing.

But if it is necessary to wash your kapok duvet, then do it like this:

How to wash your kapok duvet
  • Wash preferably at 40 degrees to protect the fibre. However, 60 degrees is possible if necessary.
  • Choose a short washing program, as the kapok cannot stand being wet for too long
  • Choose centrifugation at 1200 revolutions to get as much water as possible out of the kapok
  • Use a gentle detergent without enzymes or bleach. For example Cocoon's soap berry or a delicate detergent with or without probiotics
  • Do not use fabric softener
  • Dry the kapok duvet immediately after washing

How to dry your kapok duvet
  • Kapok duvets are dried alone in the dryer
  • Give yourself plenty of time. We recommend using dryer balls in wool to reduce drying time. They also ensure that the fibers are gently separated
  • Do not use tennis balls as they break the fiber
  • Choose a 30 minute program with medium heat. Look at the kapok pillow and repeat until it is slightly damp.
  • Let the kapok duvet dry in a warm place until the rest of the moisture is gone.
  • Be careful not to dry for too long in the dryer, as this can reduce the life of the fiber.

Kapok is a natural fiber with quite unique properties.

And they are definitely worth taking good care of.

As a rule, you should only wash your kapok mattress if strictly necessary.

If the stains are minor, then recommend we spot wash.

If it is necessary to wash your kapok mattress topper, do it like this:

How to wash your kapok mattress topper
  • Wash preferably at 40 degrees to protect the fibre. However, 60 degrees is possible if necessary.
  • Choose a short washing program, as the kapok cannot stand being wet for too long
  • Choose centrifugation at 1200 revolutions to get as much water as possible out of the kapok
  • Use a gentle detergent without enzymes or bleach. For example, Cocoon's soap berry or a fine detergent with or without probiotics
  • Do not use fabric softener
  • Dry the kapok roller mattress immediately after wash

How to dry your kapok mattress pad
  • The kapok mattress pad is dried in the dryer alone
  • Give yourself plenty of time. We recommend using dryer balls in wool to reduce drying time. They also ensure that the fibers are gently separated
  • Do not use tennis balls as they break the fiber
  • Choose a 30 minute program with medium heat. Look at the kapok mattress topper and repeat until it is slightly damp.
  • Let the kapok mattress to dry in a warm place until the rest of the moisture is gone.
  • Be careful not to dry too long in the dryer, as this can reduce the life of the fiber.

Kapok roll mattress - 90x160 cm

Cocoon Company

PAD-090160

A roll-top mattress made of organic kapok is soft and incredibly comfortable to lie on.

The roll-top mattress can either be used on top of a kapok mattress, which can be relatively hard.

Or you can also just buy an organic kapok roll-top mattress to lie on top of your current mattress. It is a simple way to take advantage of kapok's special properties.

Kapok roll mattresses insulate, regulate temperature and transport moisture away from the body. These are properties that are super ideal for small children who may have difficulty regulating their body temperature.

This mattress topper fits a Cam Cam Harlekin bed measuring 90x160 cm. The mattress topper is hand-filled with untreated organic kapok, covered with a spring of 100% organic certified cotton.

Kapok is also recommended for allergy sufferers, as house dust mites cannot live in the fiber, due to a natural content of an antibacterial bitter substance.

This mattress topper is hand-sewn, so be aware that there may be variation in the measurement.

Kapok mattresses are an allergy-friendly product, as the fiber contains a natural antibacterial substance that house dust mites cannot live in.

Kapok mattresses are free of formaldehyde, flame retardants and fluorine substances, which most other mattresses unfortunately often contain. And since the mattress cannot be washed before use, an organic alternative is really worth a lot.

A kapok mattress is relatively hard. If you therefore want to soften it up a bit, you can buy a roller mattress in organic kapok and put it on top.

This mattress measures 140 x 200 x 10 cm. The kapok mattress is hand-filled with untreated organic kapok, covered with a spring of 100% organically certified cotton.

Remember to write a comment about where the package may be. can be placed if you are not at home when it is delivered.

Maintenance of your kapok mattress

It is a good idea to give your kapok mattress a little air from time to time.

You do this by placing it on its side from time to time.

The mattress is hand-upholstered with loose natural fibers, and therefore the mattress must be maintained once in a while as needed, where you put the mattress on its edge and massage/press the fiber from the edge towards the middle, where the mattress is most stressed during use. Otherwise, the mattress can form a hole where the kapok fiber is pressed the most.

If you have a bed with a slab base without air flow, you must pay particular attention to airing your mattress.

Because the slab base will not be able to transport moisture and heat away from the mattress and this can, in the worst case, result in fungal spores at the bottom of your mattress.

Kapok mattress topper - 120x200 cm

Cocoon Company

TMA-120200

A good night's sleep is important for your productivity in everyday life.
Do you find it difficult to get rid of the heat at night or do you perhaps freeze for large parts of the winter?
Then a mattress topper in organic kapok can be a super good solution for you.
Kapok is a temperature-regulating material that conducts heat away from your body when it gets too hot, and retains heat well when there is not so much of it.
And if now you want to keep your current mattress, but at the same time benefit from kapok's good properties, then a top mattress in kapok can be a super good and durable solution.

You place it on top of your current bed and in that way you will be able to achieve the insulating, temperature-regulating and moisture-repelling effect that kapok has.

Kapok is recommended for allergy sufferers, as house dust mites cannot live in the fiber due to content of a natural and antibacterial bitter substance.

And then a mattress is made of organic kapok without either flame retardants, fluorine substances or other boring chemicals that are unfortunately quite normal in mattresses today.
So when you can't wash a mattress, a completely natural and hand-sewn alternative is a super good solution.

This mattress topper measures 120x200x5 cm.

The mattress topper is hand stuffed with untreated organic kapok, covered with a spring of 100% organically certified cotton.

NOTE: The product is delivered in undersize (which means that the product is slightly shorter than the length measurement stated above). The product will stretch a little in length after it has been used, after which the product will reach the normal length measurement. If you work a little with the fiber, i.e. e.g. if you roll the mattress once in a while, it will go faster to reach full length. Typically, it will yield approx. 5 cm per week until full length is achieved.

If you want other sizes of mattress toppers, you must finally let us know. The top mattresses can be ordered in special sizes - however with a slightly longer delivery time, depending on when you order.

This mattress is a made-to-order item, so expect a slightly longer delivery time than usual. Please note that the mattress is sent with a shipping company and therefore an additional shipping fee is charged.

Remember to write a comment about where the package may be. can be asked if you are not at home when it is delivered.

Because the slab base will not be able to transport moisture and heat away from the mattress and this can, in the worst case, result in fungal spores at the bottom of your mattress.

Cocoon Company

MAT-069136

Kapok mattress from Cocoon Company

This kapok mattress for the Stokke Sleepi V3 baby bed measures 69 x 136 x 6 cm.

The kapok mattress is hand-stuffed with untreated organic kapok, covered with a spring of 100% organically certified cotton.
Since it is hand-stuffed, there may be some variation in the measurements.

Organic kapok is a natural product of the very best. A 100% chemical-free and natural product for your baby.

Kapok is a natural fiber that grows in the tropical rainforests.

Kapok insulates, regulates temperature and transports moisture away from the body. Fantastic properties in a sleeping environment.

A kapok mattress is firm as recommended by experts for babies and children.

Kapok can be used by allergy sufferers, as the fiber contains an antibacterial substance that house dust mites cannot live in.

Kapok mattresses do not contain mould, flame retardants or fluorine substances, which most other conventional mattresses unfortunately do. And since the mattress cannot be washed before use, a natural and ecological alternative is really worth a lot.

Maintenance of your kapok mattress

It is a good idea to give your kapok mattress a little air from time to time.

You do this by placing it on its side from time to time.

If you have a bed with a slab base without air flow, you must pay special attention to airing your mattress.

For the sheet base will not be able to transport moisture and heat away from the mattress and in the worst case this can result in fungal spores at the bottom of your mattress.

The mattress is hand-stuffed with loose natural fibres, and therefore the mattress must be maintained once in a while as needed, where you put the mattress on its side and massage/press the fiber from the edge towards the middle, where the mattress is most stressed during use. Otherwise, the mattress can form a hole where the kapok fiber is pressed the most.

Maintenance of your kapok mattress

Kapok is a natural fiber with quite unique properties.

And they are definitely worth taking good care of.

As a general rule, you should only wash your kapok mattress if it is strictly necessary.

If the stains are minor, we recommend spot washing.
