Kapok mattress for pram - 37x96 cm

Cocoon Company

MAT-037096

Kapok mattress from Cocoon Company

Organic kapok is, in my eyes, a luxury product of the very best. A 100% natural, durable and chemical-free product for your baby.

Kapok is a natural fiber that grows on the fruits of kapok trees in the tropical rainforests.

Kapok insulates, regulates temperature and transports moisture away from the body. Beautiful properties in a sleeping environment.

Kapok can be used by allergy sufferers, as it contains an antibacterial substance that house dust mites cannot live in.

A kapok mattress is firm as recommended by experts for babies and children.

Kapok mattresses do not contain mould, flame retardants or fluorine substances, which unfortunately most other mattresses do. And since the mattress cannot be washed before use, a natural and organic alternative is really worth a lot.

This kapok mattress for prams measures 37x96x3.5 cm.

The kapok mattress is hand-stuffed with untreated organic kapok, covered with a spring of 100% organically certified cotton.
Since it is hand-stuffed, there may be some variation in the goals.

Maintenance of your kapok mattress

It is a good idea to give your kapok mattress a little air from time to time.

You do this by placing it on its side from time to time.

If you have a bed with a slatted base without air flow, you must pay particular attention to airing your mattress.

Because the slatted base will not be able to transport moisture and heat away from the mattress and in the worst case this can result in fungal spores at the bottom of your mattress.

The mattress is hand-stuffed with loose natural fibres, and therefore the mattress must be maintained once in a while as needed, where you put the mattress on its edge and massage/press the fiber from the edge towards the middle, where the mattress is most stressed during use. Otherwise, the mattress can form a hole where the kapok fiber is pressed the most.

Basically, you should only wash your kapok mattress if it is strictly necessary.

If the stains are smaller, we recommend spot washing.

How to wash your kapok mattress
  • Wash preferably at 40 degrees to protect the fibre. However, 60 degrees is possible if necessary.
  • Choose a short washing program, as the kapok cannot stand being wet for too long
  • Choose centrifugation at 1200 revolutions to get as much water as possible out of the kapok
  • Use a gentle detergent without enzymes or bleach. For example, Cocoon's soap berry or a fine detergent with or without probiotics
  • Do not use fabric softener
  • Dry the kapok roller mattress immediately after wash

How to dry your kapok mattress pad
  • The kapok mattress pad is dried in the dryer alone
  • Give yourself plenty of time. We recommend using dryer balls in wool to reduce drying time. They also ensure that the fibers are gently separated
  • Do not use tennis balls as they break the fiber
  • Choose a 30 minute program with medium heat. Look at the kapok mattress topper and repeat until it is slightly damp.
  • Let the kapok mattress to dry in a warm place until the rest of the moisture is gone.
  • Be careful not to dry too long in the dryer, as this can reduce the life of the fiber.

  • The kapok mattress pad is dried only in the dryer
  • Give yourself plenty of time. We recommend using dryer balls in wool to reduce drying time. They also ensure that the fibers are gently separated
  • Do not use tennis balls as they break the fiber
  • Choose a 30 minute program with medium heat. Look at the kapok roll mattress and repeat until it is slightly damp.
  • Let the kapok roll mattress dry in a warm place until the rest of the moisture is gone.
  • Be careful not to dry too long in the dryer, as this can reduce the life of the fiber.

Kapok mattress for junior bed - 70x140 cm

Cocoon Company

MAT-070140

Kapok mattress from Cocoon Company

Organic kapok mattress for junior bed.

This junior mattress measures 70x140x7 cm. The kapok mattress is hand-filled with untreated organic kapok, covered with a spring of 100% organically certified cotton.
Since it is hand-filled, there may be some variation in the measurements.

Kapok is an insulating and temperature-regulating natural material that grows wild in the tropical rainforests.

A kapok mattress is firm as recommended by experts for babies and children.

Kapok mattresses recommended for allergy sufferers, as the natural fiber contains a natural antibacterial substance that house dust mites cannot live in.

Kapok mattresses are free of formaldehyde, flame retardants and fluorine substances, which most other mattresses unfortunately often contain. And since the mattress cannot be washed before use, an organic alternative is really worth a lot.

A kapok mattress is a relatively hard mattress to lie on. If you want to soften it a little, you can supplement with a kapok mattress - you can find it here.

Maintenance of your kapok mattress

It is a good idea to give your kapok mattress a little air from time to time.

You do by placing it on its side once in a while.

If you have a bed with a slatted base without air flow, you must pay particular attention to airing your mattress.

Because the slatted base will not be able to transport moisture and heat away from the mattress and in the worst case this can result in fungal spores at the bottom of your mattress.

The mattress is hand-upholstered with loose natural fibres, and therefore the mattress must be maintained once in a while after needs, where you put the mattress on its edge and massage/press the fiber from the edge towards the middle, where the mattress is most stressed during use. Otherwise, the mattress can form a hole where the kapok fiber is pressed the most.

Please note that the kapok duvet feels different from a regular down duvet. It is slightly heavier and resembles a wadding blanket.

Maintenance of your kapok duvet

Kapok is a natural fiber with quite unique properties.

And they are definitely worth taking good care of.

As a general rule, you should only wash your kapok duvet if it is strictly necessary.
The kapok fibers can be damaged during washing and clump together, so therefore we do not recommend washing, unless the duvet cannot be used without it.
For normal use, it is sufficient to simply air the duvet.

If the stains are smaller, we recommend spot washing.

But if it is necessary to wash your kapok duvet, then do it like this:

How to wash your kapok duvet
  • Wash preferably at 40 degrees to protect the fibre. However, 60 degrees is possible if necessary.
  • Choose a short washing program, as the kapok cannot stand being wet for too long
  • Choose centrifugation at 1200 revolutions to get as much water as possible out of the kapok
  • Use a gentle detergent without enzymes or bleach. For example Cocoon's soap berry or a delicate detergent with or without probiotics
  • Do not use fabric softener
  • Dry the kapok duvet immediately after washing

How to dry your kapok duvet
  • Kapok duvets are dried alone in the dryer
  • Give yourself plenty of time. We recommend using dryer balls in wool to reduce drying time. They also ensure that the fibers are gently separated
  • Do not use tennis balls as they break the fiber
  • Choose a 30 minute program with medium heat. Look at the kapok pillow and repeat until it is slightly damp.
  • Let the kapok duvet dry in a warm place until the rest of the moisture is gone.
  • Be careful not to dry for too long in the dryer, as this can reduce the life of the fiber.

Kapok roller mattress for lift and Naturkind pram Lux - 31x75 cm

Cocoon Company

PAD-031075

A kapok mattress topper is both soft and comfortable to sleep on.

If you have a mattress with a lot of good years left in it, you can easily take advantage of kapok's properties by simply acquiring a kapok mattress topper.

Kapok insulates, regulates temperature and transports moisture away from the body, which is super ideal for small children who may have difficulty regulating their body temperature. Kapok is also recommended for allergy sufferers, as house dust mites cannot live in the fibre, due to a natural content of an antibacterial bitter substance.

The roll-top mattress can also be used on top of a kapok mattress if you think the kapok mattress is a little too hard.

This roll-top mattress for a lift measures 31x75 cm.

The roll-top mattress is hand-stuffed with untreated organic kapok, covered with a spring of 100% organically certified cotton.
Since it is hand-stuffed, there may be some variation in the measurements.

The roller mattress also fits the Naturkind Baby carriage model Lux.
