Description

A firm, breathable mattress for the early years
Babies sleep for many hours a day, so what they sleep on matters. This kapok mattress for the Juno bed is firm, as recommended for babies, and is handmade from pure organic materials.

The mattress is filled with organic kapok and covered in GOTS-certified organic cotton. The kapok fibre is light and airy and draws heat and moisture away, so your child neither gets too warm nor cold and clammy during the night.

The mattress is firmer at first, because the kapok fibre is brand new and fluffed up, and it softens as the mattress is used and the fibre settles. If you want extra softness from the start, you can add a kapok mattress pad on top. When the bed is extended, you can lengthen the mattress with Cocoon's kapok extension mattress for the Juno bed in 62x36 cm.

Kapok mattress for pram - 37 x 96 cm

Cocoon Company

MAT-037096

Why kapok?
The kapok fibre is a thin-walled, hollow tube filled with up to 80% air. That makes it extremely light – only about an eighth of the weight of cotton – and breathable at the same time. The fibre has a natural waxy coating that makes it water-repellent, so it does not soak up moisture. Instead, moisture and heat can escape from the body, which is why a kapok mattress is known for a dry, even sleeping climate where you are neither clammy, cold nor too warm.

Handmade in India
The fibre is filled and sewn by hand by local craftspeople in India, and the cover is GOTS-certified organic cotton.

Tested to EU safety requirements
The mattress has been tested and approved to the European standard for children's mattresses, EN 16890:2017+A1:2021.

Size
The mattress measures 37x96 cm. It is filled and sewn by hand, so the dimensions may vary slightly.

Caring for the mattress
Take the mattress out and stand it on its side now and then so it can air out. Kapok is a loose natural fibre, so at the same time massage the fibre from the edges towards the middle to help the mattress keep its shape.
