Colorful home textiles – made from surplus materials from industry

When factories dye yarn for textile production, an extra stock is often made just in case – but much of this yarn ends up unused. Odds & Ends textiles are designed to make full use of these scraps and create endless, unexpected color combinations.

Collections & Colors

Odds & Ends collections are produced in batches. The factory collects surplus materials and uses these colors to create a new design, which is then put into production. The precise design is just the starting point – during production, some of the residual materials are used up and replaced with similar colors.

Therefore, the images you see are an indicative representation of how the textiles look, but there will be slight variations within each batch.

Colours may vary

As these textiles are produced in small batches from surplus materials, colors may vary. However, the general color palette is always preserved, so that textiles within the same color scale can be easily combined. The product you receive may be identical to or have slight variations compared to the images on this page. The duo set consists of one textile in primarily cold tones and one in primarily warm tones.

Washing and care instructions

All Odds & Ends textiles can be washed at 30°C in the washing machine's cotton program together with similar colours. To preserve the intensity of the colors, an organic detergent is recommended for colored washing.

To extend the life of the textiles, air drying is recommended, but terrycloth products such as soft towels – especially those with a velor surface – may benefit from an occasional tumble dryer on medium heat to soften the fibers without the use of chemical fabric softeners.

If you live in an area with chalky water, you can soften both your textiles and washing machine by adding citric acid or vinegar to the rinse cycle from time to time.

Loose Threads

This product is woven with terry loops to ensure a soft and absorbent quality. Newly woven terry loops can be more prone to loose threads, so be careful with jewelry when first worn.

If a thread should come loose, never pull it! Carefully cut it off with sharp scissors – this will prevent further loose threads and will not affect the woven structure of the textiles. After the first few washes, the fibers will become more resistant to snags.

Safety and thoughtful design
CasusGrill is the winner of the "Danish Design Award 2017", reflecting its combination of aesthetics and function. A lava stone insulation insert ensures the grill retains heat internally while the exterior remains less hot, minimizing the risk of heat damage to the surface beneath.

How to use it

1. Fold out the grill legs and place it on a level surface.

2. Light the briquettes in each corner.

3. Wait 5 minutes until the briquettes have a white layer of ash – now it's ready!

4. After use, extinguish the grill with water. The lava stones can be left in nature, while the rest of the grill can be disposed of responsibly.

It is also a good idea to boil the fabric tampons thoroughly after washing in the washing machine to ensure that they are completely free of bacteria.

Please buy tampons, enough pads and panty liners to last you an entire menstrual period, so you can wash them all together.

Why choose a wool duvet over down or feathers?

A woolen duvet should not be washed. The lanolin in the wool is because the lanolin in the wool is important for the duvet's temperature-regulating function - and the lanolin is quietly washed out by the duvet when it is washed.

This modeling wax is made of beeswax and therefore needs to be warmed up in the hands before you start. On the other hand, it never dries out and can therefore be used again and again. An incredibly durable product.

Be aware that this modeling beeswax is not organic. If you want a certified organic product, I would recommend the products from Ailefo.

Nice natural alternative to classic modeling wax.

Organic fruit bag in GOTS certified organic cotton - size L.

The fruit bag measures 38x28 cm. and closes with a drawstring.

Use the bag for storing fruit and vegetables.

Maintenance of your kapok mattress

It is a good idea to give your kapok mattress a little air from time to time.

You do this by placing it on its side once in a while.

If you have a bed with a slab base without air flow, you must pay particular attention to airing your mattress.

Because the slab base will not be able to transport moisture and heat away from the mattress and in the worst case this can result in fungal spores at the bottom of your mattress.

Kapok duvet 140x220 cm.

Organic and extra long duvet in soft and temperature-regulating kapok.

Kapok is also called silk cotton because its ultra-soft fibers. Kapok is light and breathable and transports moisture away from the body. • Choose a short washing program, as the kapok cannot stand being wet for too long
• Choose centrifugation at 1200 revolutions to get as much water as possible out of the kapok
• Use a gentle detergent without enzymes or bleach. For example Cocoon's soap berry or a delicate detergent with or without probiotics
• Do not use fabric softener
• Dry the kapok duvet immediately after washing

• Kapok duvets are dried alone in the dryer
• Give yourself plenty of time. We recommend using dryer balls in wool to reduce drying time. They also ensure that the fibers are gently separated
• Do not use tennis balls as they break the fiber
• Choose a 30 minute program with medium heat. Look at the kapok pillow and repeat until it is slightly damp.
• Let the kapok duvet dry in a warm place until the rest of the moisture is gone.
• Be careful not to dry for too long in the dryer, as this can reduce the life of the fiber.

Bee's Wrap is a unique product for organic and natural food storage. Bee's Wrap is a super natural alternative to cling film, aluminum foil and freezer bags. Because Bee's Wrap can in many ways do the same as plastic - keep your food fresh - but in a natural way. Good for your health and good for the environment.

Bee's Wrap consists of a piece of GOTS certified organic cotton with beeswax and jojoba oil.

It is warmed with the hands and placed as a lid on a bowl, pie tin or something else. Alternatively, you can use Bee's Wrap to wrap a piece of cheese, a rye bread or an apple in. The possibilities are endless.

Clean Bee's Wrap under the cold or lukewarm tap, dry and use again.

However, do not use Bee's Wrap for meat, as they can only be cleaned in cold/lukewarm water.

Bee's Wrap can last approx. 1 year and can then be thrown into the compost bin. It is a 100% biodegradable product.

Liquid delicate detergent in a 1-litre bottle.

For organic washing of delicate textiles such as wool and silk.

This delicate wash contains detergents from coconut oil, plant soaps and lactic acid. The lactic acid removes limescale and gives the detergent a skin-friendly pH value.

The detergent does not contain colour, fragrance, preservatives, optical white or petrochemical substances. Neither does phosphate, which is harmful to the environment. Then if you live in the countryside, like me - without connection to a municipal sewage treatment plant, then phosphate-free products are a good and conscious alternative.

1 liter of delicate detergent is enough for approx. 50 washes. The detergent is highly concentrated, so doses approx. 20 ml. per wash in a 4.5 kg machine.

The capsule contains 30 ml. Use it if necessary. as dosage and throw it into the machine.

Ulrich Natürlich's delicate detergent is also available in a 5-litre can, which saves the environment from a whole lot of plastic packaging. If Ulrich Natürlich is a regular part of your washing routine, then it is worth considering.

Bile soap - 250 ml.

The world's best and completely natural stain remover.

Bile soap is basically super sticky. It contains washing active substances from coconut oil and plant soaps - and then it contains bile extract. It smells bad (of course), but it works!

Officially it works on grease, starch and egg white stains, but at home it also works fantastically on most other stains: tomato, colorful berries and indefinable kindergarten stains. Of course, only if the stain is treated relatively soon after it has appeared.

Bile soap is applied directly to the stain and should preferably be left to work for a minimum of 10 minutes. You can also wash an entire machine with 35 ml. bile soap without additional detergents

Super practical pump for dosing detergent for 5- and 10-litre cans.

Each pump stroke gives 30 ml. - enough for one wash.

The pump fits the 10 liter canister from Ulrich Natürlich as it is. If you use it for a 5-liter can, the tube must be shortened by 2.5 cm. Shorten the end that is up against the pump head - this is the easiest.

The thread on the pump measures approx. 4 cm. in diameter at the very bottom and barely 5 cm. on the widest part at the far end.

Be aware that the pump can only be used for detergent and not thin-flowing liquids.

Discharge tap for 5- and 10-liter canisters with Ulrich Natürlich's detergent.

The outlet tap is super good if you want to refill smaller canisters or if you want to determine the exact amount of detergent that comes out of the canister yourself.

This descaler from Ulrich Natürlich is a fantastic remedy against limescale. It is descaling in the most natural way.

The descaler contains no preservatives or petrochemical substances. It is made entirely of natural raw materials.

Lactic acid is biodegradable and therefore the best alternative for the aquatic environment.

The descaling agent is very effective. It is diluted with water in the ratio 1:3. The hotter, the better.

Lactic acid is super suitable for coffee machines (with or without capsules), electric kettles, etc.

Store the descaling agent cool and protected from sunlight.

We generally recommend using gloves for the rougher cleaning. An obvious choice are these made of rubber from FSC certified plantations: Latex gloves

Super practical small snack box in stainless steel.

Use it for nuts, raisins or fruit when you are on the go.

It is also quite useful for storing small things in the fridge.

The snack box is not 100% waterproof, so do not use it for very liquid food.

Stainless steel is one of the absolute cleanest materials to store food in. It is durable, super durable and a 100% chemical-free alternative.

Kapok double duvet from Cocoon Company

Organic double duvet with extra length in soft and temperature-regulating kapok.

Kapok - also called silk cotton because its ultra-soft fibers. Kapok is a light and breathable material that transports moisture away from the body. The temperature-regulating effect makes it suitable all year round. The duvet is very suitable if you find it difficult to keep warm at night - or find it difficult to get rid of the heat. And under this model, two people can sleep.

Kapok is also recommended for allergy sufferers, as the kapok fiber contains an antibacterial substance that house dust mites cannot live in. However, house dust mites can live on the outside of the cotton, which is why it is recommended to tumble dry the duvet for approx. every 2 months.

The double duvet is filled with untreated organic kapok, with a spring of 100% organically certified cotton.

The duvet measures 200x220 cm.

Please note that kapok duvets feel different from ordinary down duvets. It is a little heavier and resembles a cotton blanket at first. Primarily because the fiber collapses over time, so it's stopped well so it doesn't become too flat when used.

Give the duvet a few trips in the dryer and use it well - it will be soft and lovely.

Tips for Stasher Bags

Your Stasher Bag may be discolored by certain foods (tomato and the like). A little smell can also be transferred if you have used your stasher bag for strong foods. Both parts can be remedied with a little baking soda and lemon.

Kapok insert for car seat from Cocoon Company

For centuries it has been used for filling in mattresses, duvets, pillows, teddy bears, etc.

However, as polyester gained popularity, the synthetic filling has gradually replaced kapok in many products.

But luckily, Cocoon does something about it.

They develop namely a sea of ??products in kapok. Kapok fiber has so much to offer.

Kapok is both temperature-regulating, insulating and completely natural.

Kapok fiber is unsprayed and completely free of chemicals.

This insert for car seat is filled with organic and untreated kapok covered with 100% organic certified cotton

The insert is temperature-regulating and therefore allows your child to be able to away from the heat in the otherwise rather synthetic car seat.

And it also provides a little extra support.

The insert measures 70 cm. and fits car seats 15-36 kg.

Maintenance of your kapok car seat insert

The insert can be washed in a washing machine if necessary.

• Wash at 40 degrees to protect the fibre. However, 60 degrees is possible if necessary.
• Choose a short washing program, as the kapok cannot stand being wet for too long
• Choose centrifugation at 1200 revolutions to get as much water as possible out of the kapok
• Use a gentle detergent without enzymes or bleach. For example, Cocoon's soap berry or a fine detergent with or without probiotics
• Do not use fabric softener
• Dry the kapok product immediately after wash

• The kapok product is dried in the tumble dryer alone
• Give yourself plenty of time. We recommend using dryer balls in wool to reduce drying time. They also ensure that the fibers are gently separated
• Do not use tennis balls as they break the fiber
• Choose a 30 minute program with medium heat. Look at the kapok product and repeat until it is slightly damp
• Let the kapok product dry in a warm place until the rest of the moisture is gone.
• Be careful not to dry too long in the dryer, as this can reduce the life of the fiber.

Breathable wet bed sheet from Cocoon Company

This wet bed sheet is quite unique.

It is both breathable and naturally degradable.

"Ordinary" wet bed sheets have a plastic membrane. This means that the body cannot breathe on top of it.

But this wet lying sheet is breathable and completely tight.

The membrane is made of TPU. It cannot be compared with PU plastic. It is breathable, reusable and naturally degradable.

This wet bed sheet fits an adult bed measuring 180 x 200 cm.

How do you use Cocoon's wet bed sheet?

It provides the best lying comfort.

For small mattresses, the wet bed sheet is simply placed loosely on top of the mattress. For larger mattresses, fasten the wet bed sheet around the mattress with the sewn-on elastics.

Wash your wet bed sheet

We recommend that you wash the wet bed sheet at 40 degrees or a maximum of 60 degrees.

Please choose a washing program for heavy laundry, as the wet bed sheet can become heavy when washed, which some washing machines and/or washing programs find difficult to spin.

If the wet bed sheet is still very wet after washing, you can consider spinning it an extra time time.

The wet layer should not be dried in a tumble dryer. It should instead be hung to dry.

Note that the sheet can shrink 8-10%
