The thermo cup has a very good insulating ability, which means that the cup can keep drinks cold for 12 hours and iced for 36 hours. Iced means that if you fill the cup with ice and leave the thermos at room temperature, there will still be ice in the cup after 36 hours. If you don't use ice cubes in the cup, it will still be able to keep your favorite drink cold for 12 hours.

A AYA&IDA thermos cup is a spacious to-go cup with a straw and handle, which should probably take care of your liquid intake when you're on the go. Drink water, juice, smoothies and other cold drinks through the straw in the lid. If you want to use the cup for hot drinks instead, use the small opening in the lid. The crepe rubber sole is the part that wears first, and when it has gone, a cobbler can put a new one on rather than the shoe becoming waste. That places demands on the rest of the construction - there has to be something to build on - and it is one of the reasons the midsole and insole are vegetable-tanned leather rather than foam or board.

The layers in the sole
At the very bottom of the slipper's sole is the crepe rubber, soft and shock-absorbing, giving a different footfall from a hard rubber sole. Next comes a midsole in vegetable-tanned leather, which is what gives the shoe its shape and holds it. The top layer of the sole is an insole in the same vegetable-tanned leather, which takes up moisture from the foot during the day and releases it again when you are not wearing the shoe.

Wide toe box and flat footbed
The insole is flat, with no built-in arch support. That is a deliberate choice at Duckfeet: the toes are allowed to spread, and the foot moves as it wants to. The fit is medium to wide.

If you need arch support, you can put your own insoles in - the flat footbed means most insoles and orthotic footbeds will fit.

The lining is European sheep's wool. Wool holds the warmth without turning clammy, because the fibres can take up moisture without feeling wet - which is why a wool-lined shoe rarely becomes as heavy and damp as a synthetically lined one.

It is the kind of leather that takes on a patina - the tone deepens and grows more uneven where the shoe bends, and that is meant as a quality and not as wear.

Looking after them

Why kapok?
The kapok fibre is a thin-walled, hollow tube filled with up to 80% air. That makes it extremely light – only about an eighth of the weight of cotton – and breathable at the same time. The fibre has a natural waxy coating that makes it water-repellent, so it does not soak up moisture. Instead, moisture and heat can escape from the body, which is why a kapok mattress is known for a dry, even sleeping climate where you are neither clammy, cold nor too warm.

Handmade in India
The fibre is filled and sewn by hand by local craftspeople in India, and the cover is GOTS-certified organic cotton.

The mattress has been tested and approved to the European standard for children's mattresses, EN 16890:2017+A1:2021.

The mattress measures 68x122 cm. It is filled and sewn by hand, so the dimensions may vary slightly.

Caring for the mattress
Stand the mattress on its side now and then so it can air out. Like a futon, kapok is a loose natural fibre, so at the same time massage the fibre from the edges towards the middle, where the mattress takes the most weight. That way it keeps its shape and does not form a hollow.

Caring for the toothbrush
Rinse the toothbrush thoroughly after use and let it dry lying down or standing in a dry place. Avoid leaving it in a cup with water at the bottom, as wood and natural bristles do best when they can dry completely between uses.

Made in Germany
The toothbrush is made by Bürstenhaus Redecker in Germany, which has been making brushes from wood and natural bristles since 1935.
