Cleaning and Maintenance
The bottle should be hand washed after use – especially if it has been used for drinks other than water. You can simply use warm water and mild soap, or a mixture of warm water and vinegar or a teaspoon of baking soda as a more natural alternative. Use a bottle brush if necessary.

The sport cap and straw are easiest to clean using a straw brush. Allow the bottle to dry without the lid – first upside down, then right side up to ensure full drying.

Surface and Finish
The lacquered surface may develop patina or scratches over time, especially if the bottle lies loose in a bag. If a more durable finish is desired, models with a Stone, Steel, or Hammertone surface are recommended. Alternatively, you can purchase a thermal cover, which protects the surface and maintains the temperature longer.

Maintenance of Klean Kanteens Sports lid

It is important to keep the drinking spout clean.

In addition to regular cleaning, we recommend that you separate Open the sports lid occasionally and scald the parts in boiling water.

Then you are sure that there are no bacteria hiding inside the spout.

If your sports lid starts to drip more than it has been doing, then it may be because the small silicone valve at the top is loose or has fallen off. You can buy it as a spare part here
