Reusable coffee filter

Pack of 3 reusable coffee filters from Danish Cocoon Company.

The coffee filters are in GOTS certified organic cotton.

The coffee filters can be used again and again and that way you can ditch the disposable filter.

By using your coffee filter again, you save both the environment and your economy from unnecessary resources and expenses.

If you use, for example, 3 coffee filters per day, you use a total of 1095 coffee filters per year. You save them with these 3 filters, which should last 1 year each if you take good care of them.

In addition, a fabric coffee filter is also extremely effective at capturing the coffee oils from the coffee, which are the ones that can cause stomach aches. The coffee oils settle in the filter, which must then be boiled out once in a while - see below.

These coffee filters are in size 4, which gives 6-12 cups.

How to use your reusable coffee filter

Put your ground coffee directly into the coffee filter and use the filter as you usually in either a coffee machine or funnel.

The coffee filter is rinsed and hung to dry after each use. Nothing else is necessary, but you can use a mild detergent if you wish.

Maintenance of your reusable coffee filter

Before the first use and then every 6 - 8 weeks, the coffee filter should be boiled for 10 minutes to remove any coffee oils.

If food gets on your coffee filter, you should also boil the filter in approx. 10 min.

If your coffee filter becomes too dense over time, so that the coffee has difficulty flowing through, you can benefit from boiling it with a little limescale remover. For example this really effective and conscious version.

After use, you can pour the coffee grounds into the compost - or maybe use it as a scrub:-)

This stain remover block is both natural and effective.

It removes stains from your clothes, while being gentle on the environment.

The stain remover block is made from natural plant-based oils and is therefore biodegradable in nature. And then it is a completely vegan alternative.

The stain remover box contains saponified coconut oil, rapeseed oil, soya oil and lychee oil.

How to use the stain remover block?

Wet your stained clothes and rub the stain remover block on the stain until the soap suds have reached through the fabric and there are soap suds on both sides.

Let the stain remover work for 10 minutes, after which you can wash the clothes as normally.

For difficult stains such as berries or older stains, it may be necessary to use the stain remover more than once and possibly soak with the stain remover foam.

How to wash the dishcloths
The dishcloths can be machine washed at 60°C and tumble dried at medium heat.

1 kg. soap nuts from the Cocoon company.

2 small cotton bags are included that you can use as washing bags for your soap nuts.

What are soap nuts?

The soap nuts come from Inden, where they grow on big beautiful trees at the foot of The Himmalaya Mountains.

Washnuts are like berries with the nuts separated. So soapnuts are actually a misleading term, because only the berry is used for soap.

The soapnuts can be used for washing clothes, dishes, as shampoo, for shaving and for cleaning.

The soapnuts contain an organic substance called saponin. Saponin has an ability to dissolve and remove dirt.

The saponin is released when it comes into contact with water above 30 degrees and works like soap.

You therefore do not have to worry about whether the washing nuts release soap when the clothes are rinsed. Because the rinse water is cold and the soap nuts will therefore not release saponin into the cold water.

How are soap nuts used?

The soap bars are placed in the included laundry bag and put into the drum of the washing machine.

The number of soap bars that you should use depends a little on how dirty the laundry is and how much you wash at a time.

Here you should try your hand a bit.

However, it is generally recommended to use 4-5 soap berries per load. wash.

If you live in an area with hard water, add calcifier if you live in an area with hard water.

Add bleach for white laundry.

The soap carriers work at washing temperatures between 30 and 90 degrees. However, you can use a liquid detergent, extracted from soap berries, for very short washes.

Alternatively, you can soak the soap bars in warm water for a while before use.

The soap bars are very gentle and also work very well for wool and silk.

How long can the soap nuts be used?

How to wash your kapok pillow

• Wash preferably at 40 degrees to protect the fiber. However, 60 degrees is possible if necessary.
• Choose a short washing program, as the kapok cannot stand being wet for too long
• Choose centrifugation at 1200 revolutions to get as much water as possible out of the kapok
• Use a gentle detergent without enzymes or bleach. For example, Cocoon's soap berry or a delicate detergent with or without probiotics
• Do not use fabric softener
• Dry the kapok pad immediately after wash

How to dry your kapok pillow

• The kapok pillow is dried alone in the tumble dryer
• Give yourself plenty of time. We recommend using dryer balls in wool to reduce drying time. They also ensure that the fibers are gently separated
• Do not use tennis balls as they break the fiber
• Choose a 30 minute program with medium heat. Look at the kapok pillow and repeat until it is slightly damp.
• Let the kapok pillow dry in a warm place until the rest of the moisture is gone.
• Be careful not to dry too long in the dryer, as this can reduce the life of the fiber.

Natural sponge from Cocoon Company for your plastic-free bath.

The natural sponge is of the model Honeycomb, which becomes fantastically soft in the bath and is ideal for both face and body.

The natural sponge cleans the skin gently and effectively and ensures healthy blood circulation in your skin.

The sponge has large channels that mean it easily absorbs water and soap - and also gets rid of it quite easily again.

The natural sponge is created by and in nature. It originates from the Mediterranean, where they grow at a depth of 10-80 metres. The mushrooms are "harvested" only a little at a time, so that the root of the mushroom can still grow new mushrooms.

Maintenance of your natural sponge

A natural sponge is incredibly durable and can last a very long time if you take care of it.

If you use your sponge often, it will benefit from a salt water solution for 24 hours once a week.

Use approx. 125 gr. salt per liters of water for it. Then rinse it thoroughly and let it dry.

Why should you use wool dryer balls?

They can do this because the wool absorbs the moisture from the clothes and ensures that the laundry is separated in the machine.

The dryer balls thus save both the environment and your personal finances by reducing your energy consumption for drying.

The wool balls do the laundry soft and delicious and makes fabric softener completely unnecessary.

The dryer balls are produced in Nepal.

Here they are part of a social economic project where local farmers supply wool and labor for a fair wage and good working conditions.

The wool is not certified organic, as it comes from free-ranging animals.

How are dryer balls used in wool?

The dryer balls absorb moisture and distribute the clothes well in the dryer. This means that the clothes dry faster and that the machine therefore stops earlier (provided that you use a program that stops when the clothes are dry)

Be aware that the wool balls work best in a tumble dryer that is not completely full. The dryer balls should have room to move in order to function optimally.

The dryer balls will be damp (inside) after use, so please give them the opportunity to dry up before you pack them away.

This package contains 6 wool balls. 3 of the balls are white - and are for light laundry and 3 balls are dark - you can use them for your dark clothes.

You can also just put all the balls in the dryer together:-)

The dryer balls can handle between 1000 and 1500 times in the dryer, so they will last for many years:-)

Loose kapok

You can use it to fill pillows, crocheted stuffed animals or other things that you want to have polyester-free insides.

This bag with filling contains 500 gr. kapok.

It is the same kind of kapok that is used for duvets and pillows - i.e. the light part of the fibre.

So when e.g. your pillow will lose a little volume over time, you can add a little extra kapok fiber.

Cocoon recommends 1 bag for junior pillows and 2 bags for adult pillows. It is not possible to add extra filling to a baby pillow.

Natural sponge from Cocoon Company for your plastic-free bath.

The natural sponge is a silk sponge that becomes fantastically soft in the bath and is ideal for both face and body.

The natural sponge cleans the skin gently and effectively and ensures healthy blood circulation in your skin.

A natural sponge is incredibly durable and can last a very long time if you take care of it.

Then let the sponge dry. Avoid twisting the sponge - this can damage it. Instead, squeeze the water out of it.

If you use your sponge often, it will benefit from a salt water solution for 24 hours once a week.

Use approx. 125 gr. salt per liters of water for it. Then rinse it thoroughly and let it dry.

What are soap nuts?

The soap nuts come from Inden, where they grow on big beautiful trees at the foot of The Himmalaya Mountains.

Washnuts are like berries with the nuts separated. So soapnuts are actually a misleading term, because only the berry is used for soap.

The soapnuts can be used for washing clothes, dishes, as shampoo, for shaving and for cleaning.

The soapnuts contain an organic substance called saponin. Saponin has an ability to dissolve and remove dirt.

Sapon is released on contact with water above 30 degrees and works like soap.

You therefore do not have to worry about whether the washing nuts release soap when the clothes are rinsed. Because the rinse water is cold and the soap nuts will therefore not release saponin into the cold water.

How are soap nuts used?

The soap bars are placed in the supplied laundry bag and put into the drum of the washing machine.

The number of soap bars that you should use, is somewhat dependent on how dirty the laundry is and how much you wash at a time.

Here you should try your hand a bit.

However, it is generally recommended to use 4-5 soap berries per load. wash.

If you live in an area with hard water, add calcifier if you live in an area with hard water.

Add bleach for white washes.

The soap carriers work at washing temperatures between 30 and 90 degrees. However, you can use a liquid detergent, extracted from soap berries, for very short washes.

How long can the soap nuts be used?

You do not need to wash your maize duvet before use. No harmful chemicals have been added in the manufacturing process.

But your maize duvet can easily be washed. However, we recommend that you only do it when necessary, as washing wears out the product and the fibre.

So please air your duvet regularly. Especially frosty weather is good for airing the duvet.

If the duvet is to be washed, it can be washed at 60 degrees, but preferably lower, so that you protect the fine corn fiber and take a little extra care of the environment.

Kapok cushion - mounting cushion

Inner cushion or mounting cushion in organic and natural kapok from Cocoon Company

The cushion is hand-filled with untreated organic kapok, covered with a spring of 100% organically certified cotton.

The cushion is insulating and temperature-regulating and a super good alternative to the classic inner cushions in down or polyester.

The pillow measures 40x60 cm.

Maintenance of your kapok pillow

However, it can clump together a little and if that happens, we have good experience of giving the pillow a trip in the dryer on medium heat for approx. half an hour together with dryer balls (preferably wool) as this will loosen the fibers again.

If the stains are smaller, we recommend spot wash.

But if it is necessary to wash your kapok pillow, you do it like this:

• Wash preferably at 40 degrees to protect the fiber. However, 60 degrees is possible if necessary.
• Choose a short washing program, as the kapok cannot stand being wet for too long
• Choose centrifugation at 1200 revolutions to get as much water as possible out of the kapok
• Use a gentle detergent without enzymes or bleach. For example Cocoon's soap berry or a delicate detergent with or without probiotics
• Do not use fabric softener
• Dry the kapok pad immediately after wash

• The kapok pillow is dried alone in the tumble dryer
• Give yourself plenty of time. We recommend using dryer balls in wool to reduce drying time. They also ensure that the fibers are gently separated
• Do not use tennis balls as they break the fiber
• Choose a 30 minute program with medium heat. Look at the kapok pillow and repeat until it is slightly damp.
• Let the kapok pillow dry in a warm place until the rest of the moisture is gone.
• Be careful not to dry too long in the dryer, as this can reduce the life of the fiber.

Breathable wet bed sheet from Cocoon Company

Wet bed sheet or pee pad in organic cotton and with breathable membrane in bioplastic from Cocoon Company.

This wet bed sheet is quite unique.

It is both breathable and naturally degradable.

"Ordinary" wet bed sheets have a plastic membrane. This means that the body cannot breathe on top of it.

But this wet lying sheet is breathable and completely tight.

The membrane is made of TPU. It cannot be compared with PU plastic. It is breathable, reusable and naturally degradable.

This wet bed sheet fits a pram measuring 37 x 96 cm.

The wet bed sheet measures 35 x 95 cm.

How do you use the Cocoons wet bed sheet?

The wet bed sheet is placed on top of the mattress, but under your ordinary sheet.

It provides the best sleeping comfort.

For the pram mattress here, the wet bed sheet is simply placed loosely on top of the mattress. For larger mattresses, fasten the wet bed sheet around the mattress with the sewn-on elastics.

Wash your wet bed sheet

Only wash the wet bed sheet when necessary. In this way, you protect the environment and the sheet as much as possible.

We recommend that you wash the wet bed sheet at 40 degrees or a maximum of 60 degrees.

Please choose a washing program for heavy laundry, as the wet bed sheet can become heavy when washed, which some washing machines and/or washing programs have difficulty in spinning.

If the wet bed sheet is still very wet after washing, you may consider spin it an extra time.

The wet layer should not be dried in a tumble dryer. It should instead be hung to dry.

Note that the sheet can shrink 8-10%
