How to use your cotton covers

Use the beautiful covers by folding them around an e.g. a loaf tin with dough to rise. The elastic keeps them in place. They fit a great many dishes, bowls and moulds.

They are used for virtually all food, but because risk of bacterial development, they should not be used for fresh, unprocessed meat.

Wash by hand or in the washing machine and air dry.

Washing instructions: 30°C - do not use fabric softener and tumble dryer.

We recommend washing with Byoms probiotic detergent, which is made from all-natural lactic acid bacteria, if you want to be completely satisfied with both health and ecology.

Beeswax paper is a natural and reusable alternative to aluminium foil, cling film, greaseproof paper and freezer bags.

These cotton wraps are made from 100% organic, GOTS certified cotton, treated with a blend of beeswax and jojoba oil.

Beeswax food wrapping

With Haps Nordic's beeswax wraps, you can wrap your food in a remarkably easy and natural way instead of using disposable packaging like cling film, freezer bags and greaseproof paper.

You can use them for everything from bread and fruit, to covering bowls in the fridge, or for your sandwich in the packed lunch as a type of reusable greaseproof paper.

They can be used for almost all types of food, but due to the risk of bacterial development, you should not use beeswax paper for fresh, unprocessed meat.

If you take good care of your beeswax wraps, they last up to a year or even longer. But you can always give them new life again with another round of wax. Youll find a link to homemade beeswax paper at the bottom of this page.

How to use beeswax paper

• The beeswax wrap is folded around the food or bowl.
• The warmth from your hands softens the material, so it wraps easily around the food.
• The reusable greaseproof paper stiffens again as it cools down, so it stays snug.
• After use, gently clean your beeswax paper with alcohol-free soap in cool water using a soft cloth or sponge.
• Dry the wrap with a tea towel without wringing.
• And its ready to use again.

• Do not soak your beeswax paper.
• Beeswax wraps should not be used for raw, unprocessed meat.

How to make your own beeswax paper

You can either make your own beeswax wraps completely from scratch with a piece of thin, light cotton fabric, or you can renew your worn beeswax wraps if the wax is wearing off.

Maintain your Bee's Wrap

Clean Bee's Wrap under the cold or lukewarm tap. Wipe off and use again.

How to care for your beeswax wraps
Wash the wrap in cool water with a mild washing-up liquid and let it air dry, for example on a drying rack. Keep it away from heat: hot water, microwaves, ovens and hot cars will melt the wax.

When is it worn out?
Once the wrap has become thin and no longer sticks well to itself, it is time for a new one. With regular use and the right care, it lasts up to a year.
