Kapok Mattress for junior beds - 70x140 cm
Cocoon CompanyMAT-070140
Why kapok?
The kapok fibre is a thin-walled, hollow tube filled with up to 80% air. That makes it extremely light – only about an eighth of the weight of cotton – and breathable at the same time. The fibre has a natural waxy coating that makes it water-repellent, so it does not soak up moisture. Instead, moisture and heat can escape from the body, which is why a kapok mattress is known for a dry, even sleeping climate where you are neither clammy, cold nor too warm.
Handmade in India
The fibre is filled and sewn by hand by local craftspeople in India, and the cover is GOTS-certified organic cotton.
Tested to EU safety requirements
The mattress has been tested and approved to the European standard for children's mattresses, EN 16890:2017+A1:2021.
Size
The mattress measures 70x140 cm. It is filled and sewn by hand, so the dimensions may vary slightly.
Caring for the mattress
Stand the mattress on its side now and then so it can air out. Like a futon, kapok is a loose natural fibre, so at the same time massage the fibre from the edges towards the middle, where the mattress takes the most weight. That way it keeps its shape and does not form a hollow.

Kapok Baby Nest - Dusted Brown
Cocoon CompanyBAB-031503-DB
A new standard for safety
Many traditional baby nests have been criticized in recent years for deep gaps between the base and sides, which can pose a risk to the child. The Cocoon baby nest solves this issue through a stable construction:
No dangerous gaps
The design minimizes deep gaps, preventing the child from getting stuck.
Fixed back position
The unique shape gently embraces the child and limits the risk of unintentional rolling. This resembles the American "lounger" model, designed to keep the child safely on their back.
Firm and insulated base
The base is quilted in small squares, ensuring a stable surface that doesn't bunch up around the child while effectively insulating against cold from the floor.
No loose cords
We have eliminated long cords and loops that could otherwise pose a strangulation hazard.
100% organic and untreated kapok
Inside the soft cover of 100% organic GOTS-certified cotton, you will find the natural kapok fiber. Kapok is known for its unparalleled properties:
- Temperature regulating: Helps the child regulate their temperature, whether they are cold or need to release heat.
- Moisture repellent: Kapok does not absorb moisture, ensuring a dry sleep environment.
- Hypoallergenic: Dust mites and bacteria cannot thrive in the fiber.
- Firm support: Provides a more stable and supportive base than softer filling types.
- High breathability: Kapok allows air to circulate, which aids regulation and ensures the baby nest remains dry.
Flexible and practical for everyday life
The Kapok baby nest is designed to be the child's steady base - whether you are home in the living room or on the go.
- Easy to take on trips: The baby nest has a strap on the side, making it easy to carry and take with you on the go.
- Multifunctional: Use it under an activity gym, on the floor during play, or as a secure nest for the day's small naps.
- Easy maintenance: We recommend purchasing a cover to protect the nest from spit-up and accidents, keeping it fresh for longer.
Important Information
- Usage: Can be used from 0-8 months.
- Safety: The child must always be supervised while in the baby nest.
- Materials: Filling of 100% organic kapok, fabric in 100% organic cotton.
