Aleppo soap is a unique and historic soap with roots back to ancient Syria, specifically the city of Aleppo, where it has been manufactured for more than 4000 years. What makes Aleppo soap truly special is its simple, natural ingredients and traditional manufacturing process, which has remained unchanged for centuries.
This mild, foaming soap was traditionally used in Syrian baths, originally established by the Romans, and the Crusaders brought the knowledge of its manufacture back to Europe. Here Aleppo soap became the inspiration for the famous Marseille soap. Aleppo soap's unique softening and caring properties are due to its original ingredients and traditional manufacturing method.
The manufacturing process is a slow and gentle cooking method, where the ingredients are mixed and boiled in large copper vessels. The finished soap mixture is then poured into a drying room, cut into blocks and left to air dry for 6 to 9 months. This long ripening period gives Aleppo soap its characteristic green core, surrounded by a brownish crust, as well as exceptional durability and mildness.
Aleppo soap consists mainly of two ingredients: olive oil and laurel oil. The olive oil acts as a mild and moisturizing base, while the laurel oil gives the soap its antibacterial, antiseptic and soothing properties. The soap is therefore known to be effective against skin problems such as eczema, psoriasis and acne.
Aleppo soap is known for its skin-friendly properties and is suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive skin. It is 100% natural and contains no artificial additives, parabens or perfumes.
Aleppo soap is ideal for daily use for all skin types. Use it for the face, body and intimate areas as well as for hair washing. When used for hair care, it is recommended to supplement with a natural conditioner with an acidic pH value for best results.

A shampoo bar is a really good way in which you can save the earth's resources.
A lot of water is not added to be transported around and there is no need for a lot of packaging either.
No boring chemicals, sulfates or silicones are added either.
This shampoo bar has a lovely scent of geranium, which, in addition to smelling good, is antibacterial.
Mellow Mind's Hydrating Shampoo Bar with the scent of geranium repairs, nourishes and rebuilds dry and damaged hair.
It is a nourishing shampoo bar which rebuilds dry and damaged hair and leaves it clean, moisturized and shiny.
Mellow Mind's shampoo bars are all made on the same base, which i.a. contains:
- Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate: Mild detergent based on vegetable coconut oil.
- Vitamin B5 (Panthenol): Vitamin B5 has a regenerating effect, acts as a moisturizer and protector.
- Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein: a natural protein with amino acids that comes from wheat. Softens, gives volume and revives dull hair.
- Avocado oil: rich in A and E vitamins, oleic acid and monounsaturated fats that penetrate the hair strands.
How to use your shampoo bar from Mellow Mind
Moisten the bar under warm water and spread it around your wet hair by rubbing it around. It foams up easily.
You can also lather up the shampoo in your hands and then spread it through the hair.
Foam well and let it sit and work for 3 minutes.
If you have very strong hair or use a lot of styling products, it can be an advantage to wash twice.
By letting it dry completely, you avoid bacteria accumulating in the water that would otherwise lie there and soak. around and you extend the shelf life.
Quality is at the heart of Mellow Mind's production. Everything is handmade and only produced in small batches to avoid waste.
The packaging of the soaps is minimal, it just consists of a paper banderole made from 100% recycled fibres, everything is of course Swan-labelled and FSC-certified.
