Maintenance of your kapok mattress pad
Kapok is a natural fiber with quite unique properties.
And they are definitely worth taking good care of.
As a general rule, you should only wash your kapok mattress pad if strictly necessary.
If the stains are minor, we recommend spot washing.
If it is necessary to wash your kapok roller mattress, then you do this:
How to wash your kapok roller mattress- Wash preferably at 40 degrees to protect the fiber. However, 60 degrees is possible if necessary.
- Choose a short washing program, as the kapok cannot stand being wet for too long
- Choose centrifugation at 1200 revolutions to get as much water as possible out of the kapok
- Use a gentle detergent without enzymes or bleach. For example, Cocoon's soap berry or a fine detergent with or without probiotics
- Do not use fabric softener
- Dry the kapok roller mattress immediately after wash
How to dry your kapok mattress pad
- The kapok mattress pad is dried in the dryer alone
- Give yourself plenty of time. We recommend using dryer balls in wool to reduce drying time. They also ensure that the fibers are gently separated
- Do not use tennis balls as they break the fiber
- Choose a 30 minute program with medium heat. Look at the kapok mattress topper and repeat until it is slightly damp.
- Let the kapok mattress to dry in a warm place until the rest of the moisture is gone.
- Be careful not to dry too long in the dryer, as this can reduce the life of the fiber.
