Baby silk duvet - 70x100 cm
Cocoon CompanySDU-070100
The silk duvet from Cocoon Company
A silk duvet is an allergy-friendly and temperature-regulating duvet.
The silk fiber has a hollow structure, which makes it possible to transport moisture away from your body. This gives the duvet fantastic breathability and gives you a dry and comfortable sleeping environment.
And since house dust mites and mold do not thrive in dry environments, so silk duvets are therefore often recommended for allergy sufferers.A silk duvet is a thin duvet. It immediately seems more like a summer duvet, but you can easily use it all year round. Its temperature-regulating properties will ensure that your body is always at the right temperature.
This silk duvet is a baby duvet
It measures 70 x 100 cm.
Cocoons silk duvet is made of 100% Peace Silk and 100% organic cotton.
Peace Silk silk duvet - how it is produced
Do you know how traditional silk produced?
It was incredibly surprising to us, but true nonetheless.
Silk is made from the pupa of the silkworm. Normally, the silkworm will pupate and transform into a silk butterfly within two weeks. But silkworms rarely make it this far in traditional silk production. They are boiled alive to preserve the pupa whole, so that the silk fiber is as long as possible. And it is a relentless process.
Cocoon's silk duvet made of Peace Silk, however, does away with this inhumane production method, so that the silkworm can continue its development and end up as a butterfly. In the production of Peace Silk, the larvae are first and foremost given no growth hormones, but are fed exclusively with organic mulberry leaves. They therefore do not get nearly as big as conventional silkworms and pupae.
When the silkworms have pupated, the pupa is carefully cut open and the silkworm is allowed to develop completely among mulberry leaves. When the silkworm finally hatches as summer moisture, it will move out to find a mate in the wild again.
By purchasing a Peace Silk duvet, you have actually spared approx. 6,500 silk butterflies from dying.
Maintenance of your silk duvet
The silk duvet cannot be washed in a washing machine.
If there has been an accident that requires washing, we would recommend that you clean it by rinsing it under the shower, in the bathtub or sending it to be cleaned.
For ongoing maintenance, we would recommend this odor remover with probiotic bacteria. It removes odor and possibly bacteria that are on the outside of the duvet.
House dust mites and mold cannot live in the silk, so you are free of maintenance.
The silk duvet is produced in India under proper conditions for both people, the environment and the larvae.
The packaging is just a ribbon in organic cotton that is tied around the duvet.
