And this could perhaps be an idea to do something about the disposable packaging in your home?
In any case, a huge number of disposable coffee capsules are used every single day.
But luckily there is an alternative. Namely these reusable coffee capsules from WayCap, which you can fill with your favorite coffee and use again and again.
It saves both the environment for a lot of disposable packaging and your finances for the many expensive capsules.
These reusable coffee capsules are suitable for Dolce Gusto machines.
The package contains 2 coffee capsules, 1 holder and a plunger, 2 extra filters and 2 filters for the bottom of the the coffee capsule and extra silicone rings.
How to use a reusable coffee capsule
- Put your reusable coffee capsule into the holder
- Pour approx. a teaspoon of coffee into the capsule and press it down with the plunger
- Pour approx. another teaspoon of coffee into the capsule and press it down with the plunger. There must be coffee up to the inside line - preferably pressed coffee.
- Screw the lid on the coffee capsule and put it in your machine.
How strong do you want your coffee capsule coffee?
The strength of your coffee depends on which top you use and how strong the coffee is pressed.
The harder you press your coffee, the stronger it becomes.
But the strength of the coffee can also be regulated using the various filters. They must be used based on how finely the coffee is ground.
The finer the coffee is ground, the more holes you need in the filter. So the filter that is on is for very finely ground coffee for e.g. espresso.
So give it a try.
There are 4 different filters for your reusable coffee capsule:
1 with small holes for espresso coffee
1 with 16 openings for medium to finely ground coffee beans
1 with 12 openings for medium ground beans
1 with 9 openings for coarsely ground beans
How to clean your reusable coffee pod
When you finish brewing coffee, you can empty the coffee pod of coffee beans with the back of a teaspoon. Put the coffee beans in your compost bin, use them as a scrub or throw them in the residual waste.
When the coffee capsule is empty, you can simply rinse it under the tap. Use possibly this bottle cleaner for the purpose.
It is plenty for everyday use.
If it needs further cleaning, it can also easily go in the dishwasher.
WayCap reusable coffee capsules are produced in Italy.
This has been hugely important to us, as they is shipped quite a long way (at least compared to most other steel that is produced in China)
